Notts County Women FC.    

 Founded in May 2018, is a women's football club based in Nottingham, England.

They are currently playing in the FA Women's National League Division 1 Midland for the 2023/24 season. The club is an affiliate of the male football club Notts County F.C. They play their home games at the RM Stadium in Hucknall, the home ground of Hucknall Town F.C. They previously played at Greenwich Avenue, Basford, which is the home of Basford United F.C, via Wiki.

Notts County Women FC were formally known as Notts County Ladies FC which was dissolved in 2017.

I took grandson George to see the ladies play when they were in the top league and played at Meadow Lane we enjoyed it and I think it was good for him to see that women can play football too.

It's good that the club has started a proper women's team, instead of the renamed Lincoln team with high costs and little income compared to when it's done right.

Ray Trew used to claim that the womens' team would pay for itself, but I always thought that was optimistic. At the time we actually had the biggest attendances in the WPL (helped by the fact that they played at Meadow Lane and not a non-league ground), but there's no way we'd have been able to keep up with the big guns now. That said, the way the team was disbanded overnight was a disgrace and left many players without a club.

Like you say, it's great that we've got a proper women's team now.

i think it was one of alan hardys better decisions, tough but correct.

yes it could have been handled better but it was obvious that we needed to restart it. those players were not being paid solely by the gate receipts of the ladies game but that's a different debate.

i am in all favour of the new womens team because i think they show a lot of community spirit and love notts as a whole.

The ladies team wasn't financially stable at all, whilst I didn't personally mind that we basically pinched a lot of Lincoln talent. We did sign some of the best women players such as Ellen White. Our new women's team are making us proud with their promotion last season and much of the squad being home-grown. It's far easier to get behind this, but the issue is others are more attracted to known players and the league isn't appealing to most casual fans.

We are coming together, so hopefully in a few years time we can be within touches of the WSL's second-highest division.

On the notes of Alan Hardy, the ladies had to fold, and perhaps greater warning could have been given. Carly Telford taking it out on the men's squad and wishing that we were relegated, amongst other comments when we did fall out of the Football League very much disappointed me. There's no class in that; we supported them and gave them a fantastic opportunity. Alan Hardy should have taken the fault not the club itself.

The women’s team embodies all that Notts County aspires to, led by a captain who’s a devoted Notts fan. It’s hard not to wish them success. Plus, it’s reasonably priced football that’s fantastic for fans of all ages.

I wonder if Emma is any relation to Steve who played for the men’s team 2004-2006, if I remember right he was a local lad, he had a rather spectacular goal celebration.
