Swansea were well beaten at home by Southampton yesterday although watching the highlights they had some good chances, Williams said after the match it will take time to get their ideas across. I wonder how patient the Swansea fans are?

Looks like he may have jumped from the frying pan into the fire.

The Jury is out on that one.

ultimately its how patient will the board be and understanding of their decision because its them that will make the call. the fans need to give him time, swansea city was always going to be difficult of a step up but they are in good hands.

Bournemouth 5 Swansea 0

Admittedly Swansea we’re playing a Premiership side but Luke wouldn’t have wanted this score line.

Here are his comments after the game.

Quote

Swansea head coach Luke Williams on S4C: "It was a horrible night for us.

"I apologised to the players as I tried to set up the team to cause a problem for the opposition. Because it's a cup game we have to find a way to win the game.

"I got the balance wrong, too many players in advanced positions and in the turnover too few players to stem the attack and the opposition were very good.

"It was very difficult to get near their goal and in the second half we tried to limit the damage because the scoreline was too heavy.

"The players were very nervous but I don't want to talk too much about individual errors. We're playing against an outstanding team who we are most probably going to lose against because there's too much of a gap between the quality of the two teams at this moment in time.

"Individual mistakes were disappointing but I needed to help the team quicker and find a way to give them more bodies behind the ball to defend."

I understand why people are keeping an eye on LW due to how well he did for us and most of us wish him to do well but whenever you enter social media on Notts pages, LW seems to be the main talking points, especially after it's been a Swansea game. There's more critical stuff than positive.

Personally, I don't see the point in constantly mentioning him and being critical of him when his team gets a drumming like they did against Bournemouth.

The one I seen the other day was during the Bournemouth game when the GK was playing out from the back and it gifted Bournemouth a goal. Comments like "Sounds familiar" "we've see that before" all these sort of comments. It might be a sense of de ja vu for us Notts fans given some of the goals we've conceded under LW but the players also need to take some stick as they will have worked at this style of play in training ready for game days.

LW has taken on a job in a higher league so it was always gonna be tough but I hope it comes good for him and the board, fans and everyone else involved are patient with what he's trying to do there.

Last season, we were full of praise for his style because we were winning games and building a title challenge but when things start going against us it all changed. Footballs a funny old game, its good when it's working for you but when it's against you no one likes it.

To be honest, not interested in what Luke is doing now, he's moved on. The grass may not be greener on the other side for him. Hope he succeeds at Swansea for his sake but my focus is now for Stuart Maynard and our Team.

@KB1862 To be honest mate, I was getting a little bit annoyed with Luke for being so stubborn as to not tweaking the way we were playing a little bit. We were leaking goals like a sieve but no changes were being made to give our defense more cover. Stuart had identified that immediately he took over, and we will probably see small changes on Saturday as a result.

@Robbie Agree with that. The back line needed reassuring but nothing was being tweaked to adapt for that and it was frustrating. The only positive about it was that we were scoring plenty of goals and as the saying goes to win a game of football you have to outscore your opposition. But also, they say defence is the best form of attack. While that may be true, we can't be a team that has 6 7 8 or 9 goals thrillers every single week.

I'm often critical of Southgate playing with a holding midfield of 2 but he does that for cover and while we have all the attacking qualities that need to be freed more, even he allows for defensive reassurance.

Exactly @KB1862 we have the quality up front to find a goal or too even if the team is focusing more on protecting our defense.

I'm interested in seeing how things go for him now. I'd like to see him do well, but he's had a rocky start and the Swansea board aren't known for their patience.

In the NL he relied heavily on a free-scoring attack, but it didn't work quite so well in L2 and going gung-ho away to a Premier League club is insanity. That statement must have been an incredibly awkward one to make so early in his career there.

I hope he succeeds at Swansea but I do fear for him if results don't go well , and it hasn't been a good start for him either.

He needs to pick up points quickly because he hasn’t got that goodwill in the bank like he had with Notts supporters who were willing to forgive some poor performances, I fear the supporters at Swansea will turn on him unless he starts picking up results, they won’t be patient. I really hope he has time to get the crowd on his side.

Some Swansea City fans I know believe Luke Wlliams has been appointed to take the heat off the owners/board. It reminds me of how Jamie Fulleraton was appointed here, yet Williams does have something promising about him - this most likely will end in a setback. I find that saddening.

I wish Luke only well, he's been the best part of our last two seasons and those memories are things that we will always have.

I hope their fans stick with him, as I am sure it will pay off in time but if they get onto the club and the board get itchy fingers, then it could end up being a negative move for him. Whatever happens, I believe Luke will come out stronger, but it does make you mindful about working in environments close to your heart or where you have been before. Very rarely does this work, I really hope Luke can turn Swansea's form around.

Oh dear. He hasn't got the glow of a promotion season he had at Notts, so things are going to get heated now. Big turnaround needed if he's going to last the season.

The grass is not always greener on the other side.

But our Luke Williams era is now over.

We have a good Head Coach in Stuart Maynard who's now dealing with this issues, Luke couldn't solve.

Luke Williams Swansea lost at home again, this time to Ipswich. Luke is still looking for his first home win since he was appointed.

In their nine games under Williams, Swansea have conceded a huge 20 goals in all competitions.

That's a deeply worrying figure on its own, but to put it into context, it's just nine short of the tally conceded during the 21 games under their previous Manager, Michael Duff.

Swansea stand in 18th place just 4 points above the relegation zone in the Championship.

I hope Luke can turn things around soon, he's a good Coach, but he's yet to prove himself at this level.

Well he wanted to test himself at a higher level and it certainly is turning out to be a difficult test. I hope he succeeds he will always be fondly remembered as the man who finally got us out of that awful National league.

Ever since LW left the Lane, I've been watching Swansea's results and he's certainly having a Baptism of Fire. Lots of Fans seem to be asking if he'll be given time at Swansea, I don't think he will from what I've read from Swansea fans before or just after it was confirmed LW would be their new manager is that the Board at Swansea don't have a clue about running a Football Club and aren't very understanding regarding giving  a New Coach time. And hand on heart , how many Notts Fans were starting to have doubts regarding Williams after the results the Magpies were getting before he left for South Wales. In some quarters Stuart Maynard has gotten a lot of Stick from so called Fans, but think on this Maynard's first few matches have been against the top sides in League 2, and who is to say Williams results would have been any better had he stayed at the Lane?

@Wheelbarrow repair man

I was one of those fans having doubts about Luke

I will be forever grateful to Luke for what he did for Notts in getting us back into the football league, but his failure to stop or even reduce our leakage of goals was making me believe that he just couldn't do it, and maybe a change was needed with someone who would implement new ideas and methods for league 2.

We are now seeing that happen under Stuart Maynard.

I wish Luke all the best and do hope he succeeds in his new job. The signs aren't good but we'll have to wait and see

well if swansea were to sack luke williams anytime soon, i would be very disappointed for him. the club needs to rally behind him more and the players, because from what i keep reading their issues come from much higher up. williams needs to be given a transfer window to get rid of players and to bring in new faces that perform better than the existing underperforming ones. a lot of common sensed swansea fans are saying their issues has always been with their defence and being unable to score.

Luke Williams Swansea lost again today. That's two defeats on the bounce.

He now has 9 defeats in 16 matches with just 4 wins.

The grass is not always greener.
