COYP!!!

I'm glad Mullins scored, we're playing good but we need to be alert. 1-0 to Notts!

Just got back and what a performance for me I think it's the best I've seen them play. I wouldn't say anyone had a bad game every player gave 100% it was good to see McGregor playing more forward and supporting Spencer rather than the one up front we normally play.

Grealish was on fire again playing on the wing and between him and JCR there were some great ball flying into the box the poor full backs didn't know how to cope with them.

Spencer's goal was a brilliant net bulging shot from outside the box and he had a great debut. I was also impressed with Roberts and Mullins it's the first time I have seen them play and their experience showed. Boucard worked hard in midfield as well. The defence looked solid Freeman had a really good game, Manny and Sheehan were solid and Bart had very little to do apart from a double save late on.

Well done lads, bring on Wolves.

Hi all,

I wonder if you could all take a minute out of your time to help the Cov fans with their protest against moving them away from playing in Coventry.  Just click on the following link..

I predicted a 2-1 county win I'm happy to say I was wrong the score line was better than that. I thought a very good team performance from all. we were fast passing was great they played for each other these. 3 points will gladly help us beat the drop

# we will beat the drop

That wasn't just a cracking win, it was an M&S win.

Sorry to those in the chatroom who've heard this attempt at wit before COYSP

Absolutely fantastic win for you Pies, well played!!!

Well this result cheered me up no end after another thoroughly depressing day watching Weymouth.

We couldnt afford to lose today, a win was absolutely vital. And by all accounts we rose to the occasion. You cant underestimate the importance of today's result, its a huge 3 points. YOU PIES! WE ARE STAYING UP

When I noticed the score, I had to check twice. 3, 0 over coventry! would you have believed that?

One fan very far from happy here.

A terrible performance by the team in fact one of the worst displays for a long time.
We went today in our numbers to witness an embarrassment, feel let down and dejected.
Can I get my money back ? Well pissed off !

Quite a sad comment here by another sky blues fan.

Never a wasted journey, the protest is the one highlight from the game. Without winning the get back to Coventry game the club ceases to exist pretty soon IMHO

Do some really think they go up this year? (seems unrealistic considering the great achievement they have already done)

11 points from the play offs now

Where have we heard this before?

Probably come out and blame the pitch condition in his interview.

This is a very fair comment.

To be fair, teams in the relegation mix often start playing very well at this stage of the season.. remember we used to do it!

Their fans who attended the game were very impressive, I liked hearing groups of about 10-30 walking along singing their songs. It made the match day feel more important and big, credit to those who went! I don't think many of the above are a fair reflection of their fans views but I can only share what they provide.

No I wouldn't have believed that! What a difference from the last home match.

Now everyone has had chance to settle down after the euphoria of the  win can I ask what made the difference? Did Notts just  'click',Did the Sky Blues have an off day.? Was it the formation ? Have Notts finally replaced Lee Hughes?

Ps.  I think their comments from your post were just because they didn't have a good game....Most of them can't/won't go to Northampton (and nor should they IMO), so they are starved of a lot of football and rely on the away performances.

I'm not sure where you got that from Joe but I got a VERY different response from their fans on that forum.

Have a read of this thread...there are a couple of others too.  Some very nice comments about us.

Same site as you, their match thread is on page two and it's all mainly comments like I shared. :P

ohh right.  I did have a glance at it, but you never get balanced comments whilst the match is going on...they are mainly listening like most of us in the chatroom... and on days like yesterday are pretty p'd off haha

Yeah I know, still some was fairly interesting. There's better one's on a general football forum myself and @BradtheMiller posts but quite a few are from other clubs fans trying to wind up the City fans.

Makes a change because some usually target Notts. lol

A much better result than i was expecting. Its a good surprise too. We played much better and deserved the win :)

I don't know what made the difference, the new signings definitely made a difference and the players seem to respond with a good performance when there is a big crowd, like versus Sheff Utd and Coventry.

I thought Mullins headed goal was a fitting tribute on a day we celebrated the life of Big Tone with an excellent round of applause. Tony would have been proud to score that goal.

I was very surprised by Coventry I didn't really feel we were in danger from them at any time in the match, we dominated the whole match. So was it a bad performance by them or did Notts just not allow them to play?

Another thing that was good to see was when one of their players got the ball there would be two or three Notts players harrying them until we won the ball back, lots of good closing down and Coventry never had a chance to settle on the ball.

I watched the highlights on tv on Saturday night(and the video on this site several times)

The first goal came from an excellent cross and brilliant header As Tony says, one the great man would have been proud of.

The second goal came about because the Notts players would'nt give up harrying and Spencer wasn't frightened to have a go.

The penalty was excellent too.

I agree with @tonyhately's comments above.I also noticed that there were passing options too with players making themselves available.
