A Question For Joe About Quoting On The Forum

Featured Replies

Posted

I get really confused when reading posts that people have quoted, sometimes I can't tell what is the quote and what is the reply, anyone else have this problem? It is particularly bad on the phone app.

My question is @notts-joe is it possible to differentiate better between the quote and the reply? Make the quote a different colour perhaps. When I am quoting a post on the desktop I try to remember to change the colour of the quote myself to make it more readable but you can't do that on the phone app.

This is a normal quote post with reply.

This is a colour changed quote, just to show you what I mean.

I quoted something on the mobile last night and noticed that it just said 'quote' above. I will look at that for sure, with regards to the full skin, you would like to see the quote text colour change?

It's on my list of things, I know you've mentioned and I haven't forgotten.

Thanks Joe, yes a colour change for the quote or a different background or something so that you know where the quote ends and the reply begins.

I'm not moaning by the way, just an observation, it might only be me who is bothered.

Oh I know, I was just explaining.

I have a bad memory, so I didn't want you to think I had forgotten. :)

If you think you've got a bad memory, what about mine Jim? :rollonfloorlaughing:

Should hopefully just be a tweak of the CSS. I was thinking of mentioning the quote bug on the mobile, but didn't want to make a new thread about it

All questions are worth mentioning.... I generally don't get mixed up unless i'm in a rush and need to read it faster. However i think it is a good idea to have the quote text/section slightly different.

Folks,

Is the quote function good to go now?

I have changed it slightly, if required it can be enhanced further.

Please let me know.

Yes, brilliant, now if you can do the same with the mobile skin, we'll be cooking with gas.

The Devs of the software we use have hinted that the next version will see more javascript support, so you might be a lucky boy.

I've added some alteration to the mobile version of the site.

We now (finally) have a 'Home' link within the navigation, oddly it wasn't all that hard after all but I still need to alter the icon (I haven't had time to make one yet). Also the logo can now be foun, which replaces the Pride of Not...... text.
