If you decide to change your display name [username], please take a moment to update this topic. It will help other members who might get confused about who’s who. Just mention your old name followed by > and then your new one.

For example:

User1 > User2

Changes:

DeadlyMacca > NiftyNick

BlackandWhitePie > BlackandWhiteArmy

DeadlyMacca > NiftyNick

Farewell to DeadlyMacca, previously known as DeadlyDennis, and a warm welcome to NiftyNick.

Even if Nick Tsaroulla departs in the future, I plan to retain this. I believed it would be nice to select a current player to demonstrate my support. I’ve decided to let go of the ‘Deadly’ part, as I felt it was time for a change.

@NiftyNick Great pick mate. He's sure to become a legend for Notts after Deadly Macca.

If people called me by my user name, I'd be tempted to rename myself DangerousSausagecanIbuyyouadrink :D

:rollonfloorlaughing:Be sure not to forget the "i", otherwise it will be you paying.

Now, should I remember this for the next time we meet? 🤔 A swift visit to the ACP, and I'll be sorted. ;)

Talking of usernames I remember when @Chris was “Notts Joe” and I was Tony Hateley, some folk got mixed up and thought I was the real Tony Hateley, some even accused me of trying to impersonate him so I changed to Fan of Big Tone I’m glad I did now it sounds better but folk on here still call me Tony, old habits die hard.

One of my biggest regrets was not choosing to go with my real name. It took a few years for people not to call me Joe. TBH, I didn't see myself as becoming someone within the Notts community. I thought I would just keep to myself, and update the site which back then I had no idea about what worked. A local community is so much harder than any other site, but choosing "Notts-Joe" did confuse people.

That was never my intention, but I do wish I had chosen my real name to begin with.

TBH, there are many things with PON I would have done differently but isn't that part of the learning process? As for idiots on social media, we have both experienced them. I think if people really need to find something to take offence or to troll another person, then that says far more about them. In your case, some of those people were well known for being that way, it's a shame, as sometimes the community spirit within Notts was good, but they get distracted, turning themselves into online trolls. I can hold my hand up when wrong, something those types of people can't - they just go into hiding once sussed.
