Good morning, it’s a Bank Holiday Monday and the weather is looking good, my car is going for an MoT tomorrow so I’ll give it a wash and hoover today to smarten it up a bit.

I hope you working folk make the most of your extra day off and the weather stays fine, when your retired it’s just another day, we don’t generally go anywhere at bank holiday as everywhere is so crowded.

Have a great day whatever your doing.

Good morning all. Weather fine but cloudy, again a little chilly this morning.

Wife wanted to clean the living room carpet this morning so my job was to empty the room as much as possible.

We are using the Vax machine. Always does a great job.

Somehow it doesn't seem like a bank holiday, probably because I always seemed to be working bank holidays in my workdays anyway.

Got a 4 DVD Errol Flynn box set the other day so will watch one of them this afternoon.

The last days of my freedom are almost here. I want to make the most of the time I have left before school starts again. I hate the beginning of a new school year. You get 5 weeks off and enjoy it, then you're thrown back into it. The breaks should be more spread out. Today, I've decided to go to the city centre. Later, I think I'll watch something at the Showcase Cinema.

I spent yesterday visiting @super_ram, unfortunately, I found out that his folding bed doesn't fold out now. We managed to determine that it had broken. :( Still, it was nice catching up. No, Jake was with me this time as he was still at my brothers.

Good Morning. An overcast morning here in Mansfield and a a bit windy too.

Ordered a paper shredder to be delivered today. Our old shredder gave up the ghost yesterday.

This one says it can shred 6 pages at a time whereas my old one was just one

This one has an overheat cut out too like the old one.

Will be looking to remove some of the old flowers from the pots in the garden today too, depending on whether it stays fine or not.

Morning @Robbie, morning everyone, I took the car down to the Citroen dealer in Nottingham for an MoT, while I was there I had a test drive in a newer car which was automatic, I’ve never driven an automatic before so it was a bit weird, the salesperson said imagine you’ve had your left leg chopped off!

I’m not sure it’s for me I’m might wait until a manual comes p at the price I can afford, meanwhile I’m quite happy with the car I’ve got for the time being.

Good Morning. It is Wednesday Morning. It's overcast  but a little milder than of late here, no wind.

Rain was forecast for overnight, but we never got any. Looks like I'll be watering some of the plants today.

Received my new paper shredder last night, so will try it out today. Have much to shred, however will need to use the shredder sparingly because these small shredders are best when they are used half an hour at a time.

Ordered our weekly food delivery for this morning so that will be another job ticked off for the week.

Just the hallway waiting now to give the once over to complete the "spring cleaning", let's call it the late summer cleaning.

I had a meeting with the editor at my workplace, which lasted about an hour, time I will never get back. It could have been spent more productively, but the positive is that I can now write for the sports websites owned by the main media company. I have been writing about celebrities and conducting interviews with them to date, which is very mundane and boring.

@TheSkipper, that sounds great, mate! Does this mean you won't be sharing who you have met and funny stories about how people react to these celebrities? 😁

I had a scan on my leg yesterday, received the results, and need to have another operation at some point to reset it. I likely need to see a specialist, but I am up and about and able to walk. I didn't think I would say I missed work, but I do.

@CliftonMagpie I’m glad to here you’re back on your feet and walking about, I would enjoy your time away from work, if you’re anything like me you’ll be one day back and hate it again.

@TheSkipper interviewing celebrities sounds anything but boring.

It's when they're barely famous but are considered important enough to talk to them. It's not every day you encounter someone like David Tennant. I dare you to talk to most of the Z-listers from Essex and not feel like you're going crazy.

The worst part is having to write stories based on what they're doing, where they've been, and what they've said. It's pointless, but people pay to read them.

Good morning and happy Thursday everyone, it’s a lovely start to the day, I’ve spent the last two days looking at cars but I can’t find one that’s substantially better than the one we’ve got so I’m keeping hold of it for the time being, certainly until after our holiday which is looming in the next few weeks. I’m thinking I might change to an automatic but I’ll ask questions about that in a separate topic.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone. Some sunshine breaking through now after a cloudy start. A little bit windy here, but a pleasant 17 degrees.

Breakfast then wife wants me to help clean down the walls paintwork and skirting boards. Time to get on my knees and do some scrubbing.

Who said retirement was put your feet up time? Anyway, competed the task, wife is pleased, now time to sit down rest, & check out PON.

Wife's preparing dinner, Will check out the new paper shredder this afternoon after dinner.

Good morning, it’s Friday and the weekend starts here.

Our son and family are back from their two weeks camping holiday with the only power from a solar panel, it seems it was a great success, they did lots of long walks, DIL did a lot of running as she’s training for a half marathon, our son did cycling while she ran, the kids really enjoyed it in spite of having only limited time on their gadgets so all in all a huge success, we expected them coming back after a week.

We’ll be seeing them later and grandkids will be staying over for the night, it’ll be good to hear all there news, although they have been keeping us in touch with daily blogs and lovely photos whilst away, the modern equivalent of postcards I suppose.

Have a lovely day everyone.

A lovely Friday morning, plenty of sunshine, no wind, a little chilly but it should warm up later.

Time for Garden work while it's cool, clearing the dead flowers & cleaning out the pots to storage for next spring.

Although we haven't had much rain here for several weeks, the garden looks green and lush. The watering can can be a godsend.

Plenty of spiders out there spinning their webs, no doubt soon they will be trying to get into the house where it's warm as it gets colder.

Yesterday, we had a trip to @cheeky~k8's nan.

It reminds me of going to see my grandparents, my children can complain about there being nothing to do, but it's nice just to chat. In my case, it was mostly listening and trying to keep @Dash_16k company.

We arrived at Long Eaton around 2ish, before we walked to Kate's nan's house. We had KFC, which was nice. We haven't eaten out as a family for some time and, I treated @super_pie to some chicken on the bone. He loves it; it reminds me of my grandfather Ray. Personally, it makes me feel unwell. I just don't like it, but I am pleased he's less fussy.

It was nice, just to take a step back from things. I still did most of what I would normally have done, but having that quality time with the family felt nice. It's tired me out a bit.

Today, I see a specialist physio about my back pain.

I'm not looking forward to it, but I am trying to find ways to make it easier to cope with. 👍

This week seems to have gone by quickly. I got news about going back to school. I mean a proper date; I thought it would be Monday, but it isn't. I've got some extra time before I need to focus on that.

Are you looking forward to going back @Blake? I hated every minute of school but I think things are a lot different these days, my grandkids love school.

No, I’m not, but it could be worse. I could be made to go to a Forest game or watch Mansfield highlights. School isn’t too bad, but it feels a bit like a prison.
