Match Discussion: Trophy - The Foxes (H)

Unfortunately Notts are out of the EFL Cup why?

With Burton winning 5-2 against Northampton, Notts County are officially out of the EFL Trophy on goal difference.

Even though Notts beat Burton at Burton.

Glad Ceds got his Goal by playing where he Prefers the Number 9 Slot. Jatta's usual Position. Hope he's Managed to Cure his Demons and he can Go on and Get more Goals. Nice to so many Youngsters Involved tonight. Pity the Magpies failed to Progress as a Couple of more Matches would have Helped our Young Stars even further. Would like to see at Least a Couple on the Bench on Saturday. Mind you the way the Notts Injury List is Still Looking there's every Possibility.

I’m so pleased to see Cedwyn back and hopefully the goal will do him the world of good.

I briefly checked the score on Twitter after the final whistle yesterday, and I noticed quite a lot of comments about the performance not being good enough. Like, I thought most fans didn't care about this cup? I personally don't. I know, it was claimed to be the case - so I am not sure why people are bothered.

Notts won.

Cedwyn Scott found the back of the net.

We can focus on bigger things now.

The performance doesn't really matter, as we were always very likely to have been out, and I just see the EFL trophy as a waste of time. We have bigger things to focus on, also, why does a player having a subpar game like Riley Reynolds mean he's "not good enough". It was one bloody game for heaven's sake. Plus, I am sure the Leicester team has some good potential within it.

A field where dreams become reality.

@Chris  I don't know what gives with some fans.

We won the match. We had a clean sheet. We scored a goal. 9 academy players played some part in the match.

Ceds is back. Why can't fans celebrate that?

the complaining comments are disappointing because what if one of the youngest see them? whilst you hope for a good performance, you have to welcome the opportunity for them to play and get minutes. its disappointing more about some of the reactions by a small minority of our fans. we did not show ourselves up, we went out on goal difference. the league is far more important at this stage. get ready for the meltdown that we dont play the youngsters or anything else someone will pipe up about. so pleased for cedwyn scott to have returned and score.

I watched the match on Sky Sports+ and to be fair it wasn’t a good watch in fact I turned over halfway through the second half but I wouldn’t go on social media to rubbish the performance, I was pleased they won, they defended heroically and Cedwyn scored a good goal which I was delighted for him.

As others have said it’s a competition that has become pretty meaningless in the early rounds, we have more important things so I’m not losing any sleep over not progressing.
