Do Notts have an emergency Striker to play upfront  just incase Jatta & McGoldrick get injured?

I'm not talking about a defender going up front if one of our strikers have to go off injured

When on the training ground, do Notts actually have players practicing the attacking role in line with the Notts style of play? If I was a reporter I'd ask that very question.

We've seen Robbie Cundy come on as a substitute & play upfront a couple of times but that appeared more ad hoc than anything.

So who would be able to fill the roll of an emergency Striker? I'd possibly go for Ness, Tsaroulla or Grant.

So who would you choose as your emergency Striker & should Notts plan for this on the training ground?

The emergency striker may have to be Junior Morias now that he is back off loan.

In a worse case scenario of both our main strikers getting injured I imagine it would be Morias now he’s back.

I don't think we even have a first-year pro that is a striker. James Sanderson is a midfielder and has been part of the B team (whatever its official title is). Junior Morias is meant to be injured, so it would depend on how long he's out for, and the suspicious thing is why didn't Dagenham & Redbridge hold onto him if it was a short injury? Notts would have done better to recall him when he started scoring for fun. I do hope we bring in a striker just to give us more firepower. It took some time for Stuart Maynard to play both Jatta and David McGoldrick, but the issue with that is the lack of replacement if injuries occur. We are playing it a bit risky by relying on this, so I do hope Morias isn't out for long and we do bring in competition.

The thread wasn't about our recognised strikers, it was about players at the club such as defenders or midfielders that could fill in for the striking role if our strikers became injured.

Does the team train for this possibility and which players could fill in as an emergency striker if necessary?

jodi jones can play as a striker, he did for coventry city, and as an attacking central midfielder. with the quality we have out wide, i would be tempted to see if it can help settle jodi back in further. we might be forgetting that will jarvis could play as a striker, so we do have some cover but as i think jodi becomes a different player once he scores. i would consider him as an option.

we have nick tsaroulla and kellan gordon who could come in for jones if he was to put up top.

i am sure there might be other options if we really need it but i do agree, that its risky relying on someone who might be considered out of position.

If it did happen, I think we’d need someone with a touch of physicality and speed. Like you say a defender for the last 10 minutes to be another body in the box is fine but if we ever started a defender upfront, I’d think Stuart Maynard had lost the plot! Jodi would probably be my pick too just because of his skill level, generally speaking you need your most skilful players at the top end of the pitch.

To be honest, given our style of play, we’d probably do what Spain did when they won the Euros play a 4-6-0 formation! We’d just adjust it to be a 3-7-0 though!
