Offside law changed, following campaign by Swedish club

Featured Replies

At least a smaller club managed to get heard, but I do think rather than applying amendments and changes all the time. It should be reviewed every 2 seasons or so, so that it doesn't confuse players and match officials. It might help with consistency.

Didn't the Forest chairman protest about VAR and the offside rules? I don’t think all these changes help, but if they make things a little clearer, then it’s a good thing overall.

Let's go back to how Football was supposed to be. Controlled by a Referee & two Linesmen. Most of the time they get decisions right but they are only human.

VAR makes big mistakes & it has changed the game for the worse. Just get rid of it.

It’s clever that a team has found a way to train their players to beat the offside trap and ruling. At the same time, I don’t think it’s in the spirit of the game. It’s rare for a small club to make themselves heard, and the change does clarify the situation in the footnote of the offside law.

If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to send me a private message (PM). Always happy to help!
Please note: I’ll do my best to help, but some issues may need passing on.
