Allasana Jatta Injured.

@Wheelbarrow repair man If Jatta goes to Mansfield he'd probably do quite well under Nigel Clough. Notts certainly need to make the right decision very quickly with the transfer window running out.

I think Dennis could turn out to be an inspired signing. He just needs another fellow striker to either play behind him or in front of him or act as substitute when necessary if Jatta goes.

Let him go and quickly. He obviously wants out. And there will be no statement from the owners until the deal is done. They wouldn't give away any bargaining position prior to finalising the move.

They are a little more shrewd then Mr. Trump 🤑

The rejected £750,000 bid from Plymouth Argyle might be where all this started. Even if Notts only put 30% of that back into the squad, it could still make a real difference. It might help strengthen the areas we’ve struggled with early on. Alassana Jatta’s been a solid player, and I’ve got no hard feelings towards him. If he does go, I’d rather it be with respect and a proper send-off. He’s earned that much.

It’s a shame, though, if he’s refusing to play just because there’s talk of a move. That’s not the way to go about it, and it doesn’t help anyone.

Some potential fuel to the fire courtesy of the Guardian (from yesterday);

"In League Two, the race for Alassana Jatta is hotting up and the striker is eager to leave Notts County. After Plymouth’s £900,000 bid was knocked back, others are waiting in the wings. Huddersfield and Bolton have shown an interest, while QPR have previously made an offer. They could face competition from Swansea or even Kayserispor."

It’ll be a shame if he does go, I’d rather have a good player than money in the bank, we will be held to ransom by clubs knowing we’ve got money to spend and probably end up with a worse player.

I do think this has potentially already affected us in the transfer window because we've received large sums for Langstaff, Crowley and Bass clubs will know this and almost add a "we know you've got money" tax. And that just completely clashes with the Brothers style of not ever wanting to overpay for a player.

A bit like Newcastle in the Premiership now, they've had similar issues because everyone knows they are ridiculously wealthy.

I hope the rumours aren't true @menzinho but if the player is unhappy it is probably the best solution for him to go. Unfortunately, it's so late in the transfer window that it may not be possible to replace him with a like for like 20 goal seasoned striker.

I agree @Robbie we are in a really tough situation with Jatta. The funny thing is given the start he's had Matt Dennis could well be our 20+ goal centre forward this season, even so if Jatta does go we'd still need a striker in to replace him.

Sell and reinvest into the squad, but not just with signing strikers and a possible keeper.

Use some of the money to offer new deals to the existing players who are of value and importance to our development. We always seem quite sluggish to handle contracts unless they can be used to lift morale or continue the excitement, such as when Notts announced Macaulay Langstaff's 5-year deal. We should never leave it until the end of the season to offer renewals, but in some cases players may wish to wait, and that is fine.

I just feel when you have a striker like Jatta amidst rumours, and talk of his head being turned. It makes me question whether he thinks the club is moving forward, as I felt similarly after digesting David McGoldrick's departure.

Fans are going to be annoyed if Jatta leaves, but reinvesting it and getting what is needed right could help us retain the players who are fighting to get us up the league. In turn, this builds confidence within the fanbase.

I think that they really need to play this scenario right, moreso than any other scenario they've faced as owners of the club. Sure we're not going to be burning pitchforks at the gates if he goes and we get a League 1 youth striker on loan, but all that goodwill may have depleted for most fans. Given the strange and downright fall in structure, comms and recruitment we've seen this year alongside an incredibly underwhelming summer (with missed visa's, a long comms gap between coaches and a new hybrid system of board/management) will mean they will have to invest/make a statement. I really hoped to see movements done by now as the closer we get to the transfer window, the more desperate we seem. Now that might not be the case, as there could be chains etc. but communication and club stature are imperative to garnering momentum from a fanbase that is getting smaller by each match.

@piedestrian Things haven't been the same since Jason Turner. Of course, we will never know, but maybe, things could have been entirely different player wise at Notts if he was still around. Maybe some of the players that left would still be here & the communication between club & fans would have been better too.

Sound the alarm, Jatta was involved and running in the training session video from today! And yes I have already searched “can you sprint with a back spasm?” for those wondering, no not if it’s serious and in the video he looked more than fine to me.

Martin Paterson was asked about Alassana Jatta in his post-match press conference ahead of Tranmere Rovers.

These are my thoughts on what was said.
