A very good performance by Notts today. A clean sheet for James Belshaw & a vital win for Notts. It was a game where Notts created numerous chances & the final score of 1:0 to Notts could have easily have been four or five to nil.

So who stood out for you today for Notts? I have chosen the starting eleven for you to choose your Man of the Match for Notts today.

Those players are:

Belshaw, Macari, Platt, Bedeau, Jones, Palmer, Norburn, Tsaroula, Grant, Iorpenda, Jatta.

Credit to Norburn and Jatta, both were terrific today. But Iorpenda was the clear MoM for me. It's amazing how many physical battles he wins and uses to launch attacks for us. Crewe just couldn't handle him

It's easy to forget that this is Tom iorpenda's first season of senior football. That's as amazing as some of his performances.

In US sports there's the phenomena of the 'rookie wall'. This is when first year players play well up til a certain point of the season when it all catches up with them. They get mentally and physically exhausted from the rigours of the season.

Well, there's absolutely no sign of that yet with Iorpenda, in fact he looks to be getting better and better.

There were some very good performances today, Jatta had a particularly good first half he not only scored the goal but his hold up play and all round game was excellent. Platt headed every ball in the box, Norburn was solid in midfield but I do agree with @theAnticlough that Iorpenda just shaded it, he seemed to be all over the pitch and excellent performance from the young man.

Good performance? We were hanging on from Half Time, Shots off target was a disgrace, The amount of times we let Crewe back into the game was criminal. As for Dennis and his misses, Traore would have buried some of them. That said we won the game, Tommy Iorpenda Man of Match by a mile

It was a brilliant performance from the team today. Our defence midfield all did well, & the subs that came on didn't let the team down.

If I was going to pick my Man of the Match it would be Tom Iorpenda. He seems to get better & better & I think that he's even a great loan capture just like George Abbot was last season.

Very impressive performance apart from the finishing. Solid all over the pitch, no “passengers” today, at all.

There were some stand outs, particularly in the 1st half but only a couple maintained their high standards throughout.

Platt was very impressive, Norburn and Palmer competed and distributed well. Grant was excellent, despite the header, and Jatta was busy, looked better on the ball and he scored.

However, Iorpenda was head & shoulders above any other candidate. He produced a spectacularly impressive display from start to finish. Some touches of genuine class, a robust and busy performance and he was effective with and without the ball. His running, pressing, tackling and general mobility were outstanding.

Iorpenda, miles above everyone, Norburn a distant second

The whole back line were solid, so much so Belshaw was almost not needed. Norburn was really good today, probably better than Palmer which is something I wasn’t expecting to see! Jatta lead the line superbly, even when we the balls to him weren’t great he got them down and linked the play really well for us. My vote is for Iorpenda too, just for the sheer effort and never letting Crewe rest. I hope Huddersfield get promoted this season because the chance of us signing him is then a little bit more realistic.

Interestingly, on the FotMob website, the stats showed Tsaroulla as MoTM. Certainly the quality of that cross for Jatta's goal must have earned him a few extra points!

Good all round performance yesterday. Everyone played their part. Not been a big fan of Norburn, but showed his real worth against Crewe and could easily have been man of the match, but for me Tom Iopenda just shades it. He has been a consistent performer and his pressing and tenacity were key in winning the game.

I only saw half the game, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Norburn (although he did flirt with a second red on a couple of occasions). He looked much more like the player I hoped we'd be getting in the summer. More of this please!

I agree @DangerousSausage but was surprised Norburn wasn't subbed. He was a red card waiting to happen, given this ref's previous EFL record. Yes, we got away with it and the three points was most welcome

nick tsaroulla would be my man of the match and he gets my vote, i am surprised nobody else has really voted for him. i laughed when ollie norburn was voted as the official man of the match because i thought he was pretty average. tom iorpenda was good, so i understand why he is popular in the votes but i dont think he was all the good defensive. much better going forward but even then he made some poor decisions. tsaroulla for me was far more consistent, i thought norburn and jodi jones were quite poor by their own standard.

I too was surprised Norburn wasn’t subbed, I was dreading him getting another yellow.

Being on a yellow didn't stop him fouling or giving it to the ref - I concluded that he must know what he's doing! And I guess MP thinks that too.

Good comments from Chorizo Peligroso above. It's taken Norburn half the season to go from dud to stud. It took Palmer a year to get back to being himself after the knee injury. It takes JJ a while too to find form after an injury.

He started as a liability, but now Norburn's looking for the ball more and using it in different ways. It's a lot to ask but I wonder if the upward curve has some way to go yet?

I noticed at times during the match Tsaroulla was having his hands up to receive the ball and Macari didnt look to the right, and chose an inside ball.

I get where you are coming from @liampie regarding Nick Tsaroulla, he put n a great cross for the goal and I like the partnership with Lewis Macari. For me it's just there isn't enough of what he is good at. Taking players on quality crosses and for a wing back he gets in some great positions to shoot from, but always seems to sky his shots over the bar. There is a really good player in there if he can increase the end product.
