I like this. A very strong start to the summer signings. An established player, probably not yet reached his peak. Seems to stay fit. Fans favourite. Gets stuck in and, oh...scores goals (especially when playing in a team of ten men against promotion rivals. Also, has a long throw. The only doubt is that his recent experience has been as part of a back four. But maybe this is a signal of a tactical tweak or an attempt to find more flexibility.

Keep 'em coming. Roberts next ...

Sounds like a good signing, more to come I’m sure, this is going to be an exciting pre season.

From a Cambridge fan "Gibbo is a good signing for Notts. We would've kept him but he wanted to move closer to home for his young kids.
Played most of his earlier career as a FB but excelled with us last few months as a wide CB, overlapping and getting I think 6 goals and 6 assists.
Last season was by far his best with us - he struggled a bit at times in league one but was still a useful back up even then. All Cambridge fans will wish him well I'm sure."

Excellent signing. A very physical player. A Martin Paterson type player. He has a long throw too. He's played in a back four for Cambridge. Wonder if Notts will go to predominantly a back four in L1?

This is a good signing. It looks like the recruitment team are realising we need more than just young potential talented players. This looks like an "Ollie Norburn" type signing. Natural leader, character not to mention the long throw!

@piedestrian's quote says he's been RCB for the last few months, so a shape similar to ours in that case

Impressive signing - L2 team of the year, a direct rival's player of the season...

Now we're up, I might be able to stomach watching the Cambridge match on Pies Player

Sounds like a great signing, a player hitting his peak and in great form last season. The Cambridge fans are gutted he's gone. Will probably compete with Ness and (when he's fit) Macaroni for the RCB spot but according to the report he can play in any position across the back.

(Macari's name was autocorrected to macaroni above but I'm not changing it because I'm hungry)

Martin learned from that heavy defeat and the rest his history.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's to cover Matty Platt, he can play across the back but his defensive ability is very good. He's always impressed me, and I think it's good that he can slot in anywhere. Yet, Martin Paterson might be thinking about how we can adapt to positions against more tougher teams.

It's a fantastic signing, very happy with the recruitment. He should be a strong contender for signing if the season if we can figure out his best position.

Well, we already have Lasagna Jatta according to some

What a great start with these two - signing player of the season, team of the season types. Notts have the pulling power, good to see the club using it.
