Scunthorpe United vs Notts County (League)

Round two... Ding, ding!

This one will not be the same as the last time we played them, the new manager effect will need to be factored in and again they have some very talented players. I do believe our form should see us through this game though, we just need to sort the defence out.

If we can avoid the shaky start, I can see us getting a couple against them.

0-2 Notts win.

Thoughts? Will you be going? Let us know.. #discuss

Jennison Myrie-Williams got sent off for Scunthorpe at Tuesday night, and Mr Bishop picked up his 5th yellow card of the season, so I believe they are both suspended. Don't know much about Myrie-Williams, but I'm certainly glad Bishop will be missing for them.

They are going to cause us problems. We have conceded 5 goals in 2 games. They are unbeaten since we beat them in the JPT. It looks like Rory Fallon will miss th game with a knee problem which is good news for us as he has been scoring goals for them. Gary McSheffrey is back from suspension which will lessen the loss of Bish for them. And there's that man.....Paddy Madden. He's a sniffer.

All in all, I think this is the weekend our unbeaten run comes to an end. 2-1 to the Irons.

i am positive that we can get something, its daunting to predict wins in this form but i do think we can.

bish will be a big miss for them

I don't know what is going off in this team!

When the chips are down (2-0) someone must have said something and of course at HT. But this team seems to be able to come together and pull out the goods

Is our luck going to change? Are we going to stop this madness, that is winnning?

Na, Notts are too strong this season and i can see a scrappy 2-0 or 2-1. With our resolute defence

I have just checked with my good pal, William Hill esq...

Scunny are favourites... at 7/5 with Notts at 17/10 and 23/10 the draw

Something going on somewhere, the bookies aren't usually wrong, but, come on with our record???

I still say we won't be leaving Glanford Park empty handed, the run will continue

... some would say that is easy money. I don't think it will be easy, but do think we are move than capable of going there and getting a positive result. My prediction: 1-2

It is never easy money when it comes to betting and notts!

You learn a lesson when you get older, never bet on a football club which you have interest in. They never pay off! I think we can do ourselves justice here, the form is impressive and bar the bugs at the back. Our defence does not look that bad, I think we will see another master class in terms of performance and a victory to match.

2-4 Notts.

As I said last week-just keep the run going.

It's got to pick up sooner or later, yet today I'd rather it be later. Quite excited about the game, I'm taking my travel dab radio, as I will be roaming around the city centre on the hunt for xmas presents.

Seems fair Cheeky gets one week ;)

Still positive and thinking of a Notts win. We can do it!

i am hoping we dont change to much for today, derrys got players pulling their weight and unless someone is tired or injured.

harrad deserves a run at some point.

I have predicted Notts to lose the last two games and we have won so I am predicted a win for the Irons, 1-0.

Today's team news:

Starting XI - Carroll, Dumbuya, Hollis, Laing, Adams, Petrasso, Jones, Noble, McLaughlin, Harrad, G Thompson

Subs - Spiess, Cranston, McKenzie, Wroe, Traore, Ismail, Murray

Thoughts on the lineup?

Back to 4-4-2 sounds good to me.

We could be serious contenders this season

Couldn't not post tonight after another 3 hard earned points. My secret earphone was hit and miss, but got the just. Not a superb match, but no one can argue about the guts of the team. Keep it going Notts. Let's see where we are at Christmas, then push on for automatic!!!
