MAGnets - links to Walsall FC

So, proudly onwards following the late win at Scunthorpe.  Having been on the end of costly late goals at Preston and Bristol City (h) this season, it was sweet and pleasing to see the characters reversed on Saturday.

Walsall always invokes memories of Fellows' Park and David Kelly to me - notoriously 1988ish when Barnwell's team choked around easter and lost in the playoffs to the Kelly inspired Saddlers.  Spoilt my pre-teen years, that did - and he then turned up at Forest!

Anyway - players to link the two clubs should be plentiful.  I will start with 2 players, a striker we bought for £225k and ended up using him as a RB - and a RB / CB that is best remembered by most for a drug-related terrance chant....

Kevin Wilson and Charlie Palmer were released by County and both popped up at Walsall, where they played key roles in a promotion campaign.  (just as we tumbled towards them during the "kendall' year".

Loads more, so over to you...

Craig Westcarr scored 21 goals in 87 appearances for Notts and 19 goals in 59 appearances for the Saddlers.

I always liked him and was sad to see him leave but some said he was lazy and glad to see the back of him.

Manny Smith - Walsall youth team product.

Decent player, it's a shame it didn't work out for him.

Also, (this wouldn't count) but I so wished I could be saying Paul Merson.

One of my favourite players as a boy.

All the names I thought of have already gone but this is a brilliant idea, I never knew Notts had so many connections.
