Well here we are, the end of another year. Our year has been mixed with some highs and some very low points but we look forward to a new year full of hope that it will be a good one.

Tonight we won't be going anywhere to celebrate but will prepare a nice meal and at midnight we will probably be in bed reading but we will have a glass of wine to toast the new year.

What's your year been like? If you are celebrating what will you be doing? Whatever you do stay safe and have a good one.

A funny old year to be sure. Highs and lows. More highs though :)

Changing jobs was scary, but new opportunities need to be grasped.

Plus I've been on PoN for a year now!

Where has it gone?

Our youngest grandkids are a bit young so will be tucked up in bed but the family are coming round for a meal and staying the night tomorrow. Do your grandchildren stay up for midnight @GrannyPie? I remember my brother letting his 7-8 year old children stay up one year, they were completely underwhelmed and wondered what all the fuss was about, I think they expected something really dramatic to happen at midnight and when it didn't they were disappointed. They didn't bother pestering to stay up again next year.

Sadly we won't be seeing our eldest grandkids until 17th January, when we will have another Christmas with them.

The year didn't really get going until the end of spring, beginning of summer.

Some high points, Survival, the garden, the village show

Some Lows, Teeth, Christmas

I will be sleeping, or wide awake, who knows at which point in the 90 minute cycle I will be

Is it Spring yet?

We're rocking it with @GrannyPie.

Can't wait, I expect @super_ram to be his norm and the kids will keep him on his toes. You never know, he may smile! Nobodies louder than super though, so thank god Derby played yesterday!

It's back to business for us, so how was your celebrations?

I had a good time at my parents, as did the children. It's always nice to see the new year in with loved one's, I couldn't really go out for it. Done it once and it wasn't that much fun compared to spending it with family.

We had a quiet New Years Eve but our son and family came for New Year's Day and we had a lovely meal and played games, great fun.

Happy new year everyone!

I celebrated with the inlaws. It's nice when everyone is there, there are some fireworks to look at across the road and I don't have a massive hangover the next day. And there's the added bonus of being able to almost eat myself to death.

The trouble with going out in Germany is that everyone takes their own fireworks and explodes them in all directions, there is no thought for safety at all. After all, this is a country where actual fireworks are marketed towards children. It's pretty to look at from a balcony high up but if you're at ground level chances are you'll have to dive out of the way once or twice after a child points a firework towards you.

It was a fun and eventful new years eve, but it was noisy. Not as noisy as some of the houses were walking back home though. Loud music on outside at 1am :hmm:
