I have heard people comment on the fact that SD doesn't know, and that could be argued given the amount of changes we seem to have has recently...

So as a forum how about we come to some sort of consencus, on our best starting 11, willing to hear arguments for and against the inclusion of anybody....

Can we look past Roy Carroll as number 1 GK? I think not, for all his cards and the timewasting antics, he is still head and shoulders above anybody else.

RB - Dumbaya or White???? No contest IMO... Dumbaya

LB - Adams or Cranston??? Adams shades this for me.

CB - as a pairing..... Mckenzie and Hollis or Mullins

RM - Santos?

LM - Hayhurst?

CM - as a pair.... Noble and Thompson C???

CF- Pick 2 and run with them, but what is the best 2? Bajner, Murray, Daniels, Thomas

Guys and gals, we know we have some shortcomings, those aside what do you think is our current strongest 11.....

GK: Carroll

RB: Dumbuya

LB: Cranston is the better defender yet Adams offers much more going forward

CB: McKenzie & Mullins

RW: Thompson

LW: Hayhurst

CM: Curtis Thompson & Nicky Wroe

CF: Bajner & Murray

Explanation

The right back picks himself, that new lad is on a par with Haydn Hollis for me ie: conference level, Mullins is still good enough for at least another two seasons and as such we need to put him alongside Taylor McKenzie so that he can pass on his experience. The wingers pick themselves for me and Liam Noble really needs to sort himself out before he ends up with Hollis at conference level due to his childish behaviour when things don't go his way so therefore Curtis gets the central midfield role alongside the best passer of a ball at the club by a country mile Nicky Wroe, we need NW if we want to play with two proper old fashioned wingers and the big & small one upfront, which leads me nicely onto the front pairing, Ronan was lethal alongside JS last season and I see no reason why, now that we have Bajner that this wouldn't be the same again

Would agree at the moment. Wroe would be my only concern, but I'll admit Noble is a liability atm.

The young lad Woolery played well down the right wing when moved there on Saturday so maybe him there?

Would Gary Thompson deserve dropping though? maybe give him a run up front with Bajner then try Murray?

To many ifs and buts now. No settled formation and no realisation that Hollis is rubbish.

Carroll - Easily the best keeper
Dumbuya - Far better than White
Adams - If he improved his defending he would be the clear runner IMO.
Hollis - With a shortage of rivals he does the job but he needs competition.
Mullins - He plays this position quite well, though I do think even he needs competition
Right Midfidler?
Hayhurst - No others come close to him.
Noble - Despite his flaws and what I have highlighted he is a clear candidate
Curtis Thompson - With his form and strong grit shown, he deserves this play.
Bajner - Looks to be a very good addition
Garry Thompson - Always prefer seeing him upfront.

I am unsure about the right side of midfield, I would say Santos but I am sure this place isn't secure just yet.

i think we have to admit hollis is just learning and his experience makes him stand out, until we sign a better cb he will be in our starting 11 because of this.

-----------Carroll-------------
Dumbuya-Hollis-Mullins-Adams
---------------Jones----------------
-?????? - Thommo- Hayhurst
----------Bajner----Thommo------

Hollis there as no competition. Noble too often suspended. No right midfielder as we don't really have one of note.

Carroll.

Cranston, Hollis, Mullins, Dumbuya.

Adams,Thompson,Noble, Hayhurst.

Bajner, Murray/Thompson (can't decide).

Some have flaws but that's the best we've got.

Still reeling that we signed 54 forwards when we need a CB and CDM!
