Strange Signings

What is the point of these signings? Apart from being young, with the exception of Newton, we don't play them. Are they not good enough? If so, why did we sign them?

Hayhurst and Daniels are particularly worrying - we signed them as they weren't getting a look in at their previous clubs, and they now sit on the bench or not in the squad? Just very, very strange.

It i strange when you think how poorly the team has played. Only SD and GA know what is happening day in day out at training, but thy must really be poor to not get a look in at the moment. If theyre that bad then why sign them?

The we'll only sign quality first team players promise at the end of last year certainly hasn't come true!!! More rubbish than Eastcroft Incinerator!

I suspect it's because of the success we enjoyed in the first part of the season, along with the fall we had. Derry probably doesn't know how to use them or get the most out of them yet.

I agree it's odd but only time will tell, if any end up being released then it confirms the above more so.

Personally I expect Newton to sign at the end of the season, though I hope to see them more feature.

A field where dreams become reality.

I think it highlights part of the problem, Derry wanted to bring in players better than what we had but he don't give them long enough to show what they can do. Very strange how some only cast shadows!

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

It's a strange one @liampie, I really don't like this habit of signing players, playing them a few times and then dropping them seemingly permanently. I wouldn't be surprised if it has damaged the team spirit we had in abundance at the start of the season.

Bringing young players to the club is all well and good, but only if you're actually committed to developing them. Signing them, sitting them in the stands on matchdays and releasing them again is a pointless exercise. No-one would bet on McKenzie or Traore still being at the club in a couple of years, never mind becoming key players.
