Assuming we stay in this division (which I know is dodgy ground at the moment, but let's hope!)

Who would you...?

definitely keep

Maybe for the future (no golden oldies!)

Get rid of immediately

I'm not sure of contract situations, but i'm sure people will enlighten me as this thread goes along.

Keep - Thompson, Adams, Noble, Jones, Carroll

Get Rid - Murray, Whitehouse

Maybe - Bajner, Drissa, Dumbuya, Wroe, Mckenzie

A lot of the maybes are there just because they've not really had a chance, I reckon Dumbuya will be gone in the summer though don't think Shaun seems very keen on him.

We should keep Murray, with Spencer back and the addition of some new players he will be a force for us again IMO.

If our budget is bigger next season, I would cut down where it wouldn't be risky and replace with quality, try to avoid assembling a whole new squad! Lets just get rid of the passengers.

I'd can most of them tbh. The only ones worth keeping are;

Carroll, both of the Thompsons, Spencer, JCR & McCourt. I'd also keep Dumbuya but I just can't see it happening tbh.

Traore, McKenzie, Adams, Hollis, Bajner & Wroe are maybe's.

The rest are simply not worth hanging on to - if it was up to me I wouldn't waste money on Bajner, he's never going to score goals or Hollis, average pub player. Age will do for Jones, Mullins, Smith & Edwards - if we have to rely on any of them it really is time to pack up.

i would get rid of adams, he was awful on saturday and does show any signs of being a decent left back.

i would also get rid of whitehouse, keane as they have not done much.

GK Roy Carroll - Keep - Could probably do another year.
DF Mustapha Dumbuya - Maybe - Wage demands
Blair Adams - Keep
Alan Smith- Release - Age/ability
Hayden Mullins - Release - Age
Haydn Hollis - Keep - Squad player
Will Hayhurst - Maybe - No idea
Nicky Wroe  - Maybe - See above
Jimmy Spencer - Keep - Let us hope he is the same player before his injury.
Ronan Murray - Keep - Bring back the Murray of last season
Garry Thompson - Maybe - Getting on a bit, could be a useful squad player.
Sean Newton - Maybe - No idea
Gary Jones- Release - Age and position played, too much running needed.
Taylor McKenzie - Maybe - Who knows
Curtis Thompson - Keep
Liam Noble - Release - Can't keep his head in the game and isn't an outstanding player whom you could forgive his frequent bookings.
Greg Tempest - Maybe - No idea
Billy Daniels - Maybe - See above
Cieron Keane  - Maybe - See above
Brad McGowan - Maybe - See above
Fabian Spiess - Maybe - See above
MF Drissa Traoré - Maybe - See above
Elliott Whitehouse - Maybe - See above
Bálint Bajner - Keep - Could offer something different from the bench.
Mike Edwards - Stays on as staff
Colby Bishop - Maybe - No idea
Kevin Pilkington - Stays on as staff

That is 7 keeps, with the majority being squad/bench players. SD needs to do a lot of signing in the off-season. Most of the maybes are because we haven't seen them.

For the record, last year I wanted to keep 9 of them, and majority were first team players. Bit depressing really, we've gone sideways, if not backwards.

I think we will hold onto these players anyway as they are contracted until 2016:

Ronan Murray

Liam Noble

Nicky Wroe

Blair Adams

Haydn Hollis

Will Hayhurst

James Spencer

Taylor McKenzie

Billy Daniels

God help us then!

What an assortment - one excellent, some good, mostly bad & utter rubbish.

I would weigh up who we can bring in before we offload any players, we might have the problem that we allow players go who could do better settled in. Plus what quality comes in from here is going to be interesting.

Release only the players who have not made the grade and can easily be replaced.

No idea who to suggest those are though!
