Mansfield Attendance

Did anyone else suspect the home attendance figure to be wrong? I would like to know where the club could fit another 5,000, let alone another 10.

I really feel the 10k given may be wrong.

The family stand looked woeful but the KOP looked packed, as did the Pavis.

Does anyone agree here?

It's weird I said the same thing to @super_ram the other night.

I am not sure how many was in attendance but at 10k, it was packed and the Kop really struggled to accommodate all of the fans wanting food etc. In fact, you could barely walk around like normal and I do think the attendance was higher than the amount given.

A field where dreams become reality.

Obviously I wasn't there, but generally speaking @liampie is right, it's misleading.

If every third or fourth seat is empty in a busy block, it still looks full. If you're sat in the Kop, you don't see the swathes of empty seats at either side of the stand - and we're talking about thousands of seats in a stand that size. And the Pavis stand always looks much fuller from the Kop too as you're looking from the side, when I used to sit in the JS stand I could get a much better feel for how busy (or empty) it was.

I get that guys but it either is correct and Notts need to be more prepared or somewhere, somehow people are getting in without having their tickets scanned.

No way is the official figure correct.

I think the figure was correct, looking from the main stand the kop was not full, I would say two thirds, there was also a large section of the away stand that was empty, the family stand was nearly empty and the main stand probably had lots of single seats and groups of seats empty.

I think I read somewhere that it is not possible to fiddle the attendance even if they wanted to.

Yeah, I think your right. That said, I am sure people sneak in and get a way without paying.

I agree, me and my mate got 2 seats in the Kop that was right behind the barrier on the stairway. I had a good look round but it looked close to being packed. I know they had to open 2 turnstiles on the Pavis to get the queues down. Pavis looked busy too.

From the pictures I have seen, it looked very busy. 10k is great, if more so is that.

Either way it changes little.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
