I can understand this, but he was a decent pro and wouldn't have hurt to keep him for the rest of the season.

I didn't think he was the worst player we had signed, he did well at right back, but then was played at centre back and left back and he hasn't played since

I thought he would come good, he has all the pedigree and I thought it was a matter of time and in the right position.

However JF's probably right on this one, can't guarantee him first team football so it makes sense, however I am disappointed for the reasons above.

Its no real surprise after the recent mumblings.

The club will probably release any player who is attracting interest that does not fit into the first team plans. Gill Swerts is one of them players who did he best and ended up being frozen out for doing so. I hope he finds a club soon.

If we played him to his strengths we may have seen more. I'm not that happy either, we allow this to happen frequently and often its not the right call in the end.

I agree it makes sense at this stage with him not playing.

Soon managers and players will come here just to have their contracts paid off, it seems easy money. Wait a minute????

I'd love to be a manager at Notts. 6 months work for 3 years pay.. outstanding, where do I sign?!!

i dont, i think he played well as right back. better than hewitt defensively which is what we need.

why we never played him in midfield is beyond me. i just wished we stopped making pointless signings, remember quality no quantity and what happened??

2 blokes signed 2 different squad, that's what happened.

Now one of them has been sacked, his squad is being released.

@Super_Danny_Allsopp Don't forget your perks of being able to go on holiday pre season or at any times you want.

Paul Ince spent most of his time on the golf course, now I'm no good at golf, but I'll give it a bloody good go.

Swerts would have struggled to get into the squad as he did to make the bench.

It seems sensible to me.

can gaurentee amervor is on his way so to Genaro Burke can't even get a game anymore banton will replace Burke or Snidjers on the wing Addison may be brought in aswell.

Weve released funds from Spencer who had a new contract a while back proberly decent wages to swerts Jenner sprockel Spencer and a few more will leave.

Stanley may be the only foreign player left if we are stupid enough to let him go which hopefully we ain't command a damn good fee for him.

But I won't be surprised if Snidjers amervor both go soon as there not gettin game time or making the bench both seem  not in the plans an it says it all when you have 4 wingers in valencic Burke Snidjers if you add de silva to.

And you have just brought another one in on trial who branston wanted to sign before but moniz didn't want him but now branston wants him and Fullarton coached him at palace if he signs I think that's it for Snidjers and a few others

Banton and Addison? I haven't heard of either I'm afraid

Edit: I assumed you would be talking about a different Addison rather than the former derby one, im curious as to why he hasn't played many games but from what I know he's a decent defender

Banton is another one, wiki says hes played abit for Plymouth but was still released, I don't know much about him but he can't be worse than hayhurst

he played at peterboigh but was gaining match fitnes banton was at Wycombe hardly played only 23 so potential is there if it can be coached out of him

I thought we should at least have given him a chance in midfield, he might have been a better alternative to Smith. But there's also no point in carrying a bloated squad full of frustrated players who are not getting near the team.

@DangerousSausage i think its why some fans get a bit tangled up with the managers comments, obviously things change and he does need to reduce the squad but i can understand why people get annoyed.

i feel if you say something you should do it.
