Statistical Quizzes on the Football League

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I'm going to start setting questions based on the whole history of the football league (including the so-called 'premier'), so everty game we'd all call a 'league' game.

Starting easy:

1. Which club has played the most league games since 1888?

Notts County.

Sounds like something to be proud of, but it's actually due to us spending more time in the lower divisions than the other founder members!

A Lancashire club beginning with 'B'?

(A sneaky way to get founder members Blackburn, Burnley and Bolton in one answer!)

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

No, 13th, 15th and 17th respectively

And the winner is Manchester United, so @ohstanleyaborah gets half a point!

Incidentally Notts are 18th overall and Forest 21st, about 200 goals ahead (boring, boring Forest!)

On that note 'boring' Arsenal are 4th all time...
