Izale Mcleod Staying?

Featured Replies

Izale Mcleod broke his twitter silence and tweeted the following on Saturday: "What a ball from @carldickinson_3 yesterday to set up our goal #notts we've got good players we promise to be up there come end of season".

Alot of we's in there suggest he's staying. Looks like he is trying to build bridges with fans..

it will be interesting if he just sits and just picks up his salary. He needs to be playing football

A Notts fan from September. But on the other hand you have the official Rochdale and a journalist who knows him tweet about him, swings and roundabouts really, my opinion, if it is fake the person must have absolutely no life!

Real or fake, I listen and pay more attention to what Sheridan does. Izale hasn't featured for us yet despite the lack of quality upfront and for me I do think he is on the way out. Plus he will be on a few bob so it makes sense for a club with a track record to offload their highest earners to bring in cheaper options.

The fact that McLeod hasn't figured at all tells its own story. I think Sheridan realises that the squad needs a bit of an overhaul and the easiest way to do that would be to get rid of our most expensive striker. For his wages we could probably get 2-3 others who could do a job for us.

I would be happy with one bud.

Expensive in terms of salary or the fee our club paid for him?

A field where dreams become reality.

Expensive in terms of salary (the transfer fee is gone and we ain't getting it back). No insider info, but when a club is willing to spend 150k for your services, it can't exactly plead poverty when negotiating wages. And we all know that proven goalscorers are rare and not cheap. I would be very surprised if he wasn't our highest earner.

Of course, selling him will do us no good if we don't replace him with quality.

Carroll was on a fair wack from the sounds of it.

McLeod will most likely be one of the biggest remaining earners. I just hope we don't pay Hollis too much!
