I hope Nolan drafts as many fringe players as he's "allowed" by this totalitarian competition, makes a first-minute substitution of another first-team player just to send a message, and tells his players to treat it like a training ground exercise. Screw "morale" and "home form", it's a glorified friendly.

It will nett us £10000 if we win(not to be sniffed at,at our level) it will give fringe players some fitness and give KN an opportunity to have a look if they are ready for first team action so it's a win win - Joe think you are looking at it a bit narrowly.

I disagree, the introduction of Premiership 'B' teams into the competition was a sinister move and I have no doubt it is the thin end of a wedge that will see them pushing for Football League status before too long.  Even though lower league fans were massively against the change, the cash they bunged was enough to see most (such as Alan Hardy) surrender.  Even though it has always been an uninspiring competition, I used to attend the home games but even if we got to Wembley I wouldn't attend a game while 'B' teams are involved.  Act now unless you are happy to see Notts County v Manchester United 'B' as a league fixture.  What the Premiership wants the Premiership usually gets, and this is definitely something they want.

Perhaps the Premier League teams would like to show just how much it means to them by having the inclusion of their B teams by offering a fee per win which actually respects lower tier teams like ourselves?

20k isn't really anything, some teams will be lucky to get 40k throughout the competition.

This within its own right highlights why clubs need to take it seriously, and if they can't - well I think it just goes to show how pathetic the re-branding of the JPT is.

The Lincoln game will be very interesting.
