Players and Formations!

Look at our squad depth and the players we have. Also the type of players we have, what formation do they suit and why?

What formation would you want to play and who are the best players we currently have to fill those positions.

Mine would be consisting of a 3-5-2. Here is my lineup I think would win us the most games and suit the players we have:

Fitzsimmons

Turley, Ward, Bird

Kellett , Vaughan , Milsom , Patching , Boldewjin {Kellett can play both LB and LM so would fill that left side well with his work rate, Vaughan as a holding midfielder, Patching as the play maker and Milsom ball winner}

Hemmings , Dennis {Both strikers to feed off good quality through balls from midfield, both play on the last man and keep the oppositions defence deep}

Subs: Pindroch, Tootle, Evina, Brisley, Alessandra, Hawkridge, Stead

Let me know what you think!

352 would be my choice with 442 2nd.

352 would be: Fitzsimons, Turley, Ward, Bird, Alessandra, Patching, Milsom, Kellett, Boldewijn, Stead, Hemmings

2 up front would really suit Dennis and help him a lot more. Put Boldewijn in CAM. Otis Khan is a winger and plays cam for Mansfield. Danny Mayor is a winger and plays cam for Bury.

Ward would be able to pass it around hopefully and Bird is the quickest centre-back we've got and him and Turley would be able to cover Ward quite well if he got caught for pace

I've always felt we looked decent playing a traditional formation of 4-4-2 which reverts to 4-3-2-1 when try to settle for a result. It's hard to judge though this season, we haven't led many games well enough to see what works but defensively we do look better avoiding 3 at the back, with the wing backs doubling up as wingers.

It would be interesting to see what formation Notts played tonight, I haven't checked yet but it seems to have done okay.

A field where dreams become reality.

i would be tempted to go for a 3rd striker in january so that we can play hemmings, dennis and another striker.

then allow enzio to take on players down the wing, if we can get another speedy player i think we would have more metal up top. defensively i think we are almost there, just need to sort the middle of the park and instruct someone to break down the play. we need a gavin mahon type player! formation wise i dont really know either but i do think having players like hemmings who can pull wide or drop back does offer the club something different.

I thought Notts looked okay with 3 defenders and 2 wing backs, a little too defensive but generally okay.

Elliott Ward seems to be coming under fire as 'too slow' but he seems alright, I would prefer Notts to be able to play several formations successfully because then if one does work in-game the manager can try switching things around.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

The players could play any formation with the right manager, the question should be what formation should the next Notts manager go with and settle the squad around. I don't think Notts have looked good on the wing this season, only Enzio Boldewijn is lively and Nathan Thomas has been hugely disappointing.

A better winger could make the world of a difference to the squad.

A lot more than another CM which any player could learn to track back and defend.

I am not sure about formations, this season Notts haven't looked that good playing quite a few and I think that's why Kevin Nolan kept playing around with it. I do feel things could have been much different if we could have settled for a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!
