The Corona virus pandemic situation is having a terrible effect  on people worldwide and is currently the main news headline.I was wondering ,if PoN had been here from 1862, what news items would have aroused most posting responses here.I'm thinking both world wars,Notts winning the FA cup and the Titanic sinking.Any suggestions from members?

The death of Queen Victoria, the longest reigning monarch in English history at the time of her death.

The abdication of Edward VIII would have been a juicy piece of conversation.

The Cuban missile crisis when the world almost came to an end.

The nausea associated with Forest winning the European Cup twice.

The fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Soviet empire.

Thank god the internet hasn't been round since 1862, imagine all the Hitler quotes and nonsense we would have today? Likewise for some of the other nuts that have done bad things over the years.

I'm curious to see what else others have to say, but I won't add any myself.

The miners' strike would have had a thread. Might have been one for the mods...

There may well have been a "Sirrel out" thread, and almost certainly a "Warnock out" thread.

PON would have boomed at the end of the war and with the signing of Tommy Lawton.

He would have broken the internet and took our server down. 🤣
