On this day 8 years ago I was standing in the away end at Brentford watching Notts play out a 0-0 draw. Notts were right in the mix for a playoff spot in League 1. A week later a 4-2 home loss to Bury proved to be the decisive result as Notts missed out on the playoffs on goal difference. Stevenage beat us to the last playoff spot. Fast forward to today, Brentford are pushing for promotion to the PL, Notts are in the Conference, Bury went bust and Stevenage are last in League 2. A lot can happen in 8 years!

The squad Notts had built when we pushed for the Playoffs in League One, it had a lot going for it, but the cracks became noticeable when players wanted out.

The biggest issue is the fact the clubs sacked too many managers.

Losing Alan Judge proved to be a difficult player to replace, I still feel that appointing a strong manager out weighs the cost of wages. Some of the people taken on as the club spiralled downwards just seemed the cheapest option.
