I'm all for the idea. I would much prefer to stand when watching football. If it can be done safely I don't see why not.

No, people stand already. I think it's far safer to be sensible, I wouldn't revert back because it's dangerous and it would become annoying when everyone stands, children and so on unable to see. People get heated and arguments flare, I'd rather Stewards choose what's the best or safest way. These guys should spot how people are acting and so on, we all know it takes a few muppets to ruin something.

Non League is far different than the professional side of football.

Perhaps standing areas would be best? I don't see many standing the majority of the game in the winter months.

I'm not against people standing at matches, as long it is not in front of me!

Safe standing areas is a good idea for those who want to stand, personally my back would start aching if I had to stand for 90 minutes, so I'll stick to seats.

I've spent many years longing for the return to county road standing!

Even though I've only just hit 40, I'm already so used to sitting now I can't see myself changing back to standing. Too used to the comfort (what little there is) of my seat at the lane.

As a club, it would be a good idea, but i'm sure the cost aspect would be prohibitive. 

eg the kop. This is currently where the volume comes from the singing. Changing this would create a better atmosphere for those standing, but it would cost lots me thinks.

 

We are already stuck with one side of our ground unused!

Convert one stand? It would look better if the family stand allowed this.

I think it is a good move to look into this, if they can agree to something good but I also feel that grounds look better with seats. It would need to be a compromise rather than all standing or all sitting.

I'd love to see the bottom tier of the Kop converted to standing.  Its not so steep, and the singers closer to the action seems to help the sound carry (anecdotal rather than a fact, but it certainly seems that way if the top of the Kop is shut to accomodate TV or whatever). 

 

 

 

If this is ever allowed I'd love to see Notts be one of the first to take it up. The novelty of standing areas may be enough to bring a few more fans in -- I know a lot, myself included, would prefer to stand.

I have to say that when last year I went to Brentford away to the lower,standing section area..well it brought me back to my youth when,with my old man,we used to watch,standing,juve at the old comunale stadium.standing close to other fans shouting,pushing,jumping..not comfortable but that's football to me..even if I now thank god for the changes and the seats,especially as it's safer for families and kids..buth a mixture of standing and sitting areas would be very nice,in my opinion,so people could choose..

The family stand does have a large patio area, as my children ran around this at a game! If the standing didn't harm those who attend games in wheelchairs (I.E it didn't restrict them or cause a concern) I think the family stand would be ideal.

As mentioned by @JamieWD it would be nice to have a section behind the goal.

@paolo - Nice to see you mate! I've never been to a game where you could stand, though @super_ram's told me about it. Not sure Super was a fan of it or not

I quite like the look of Burton's ground.  Then again I don't think going for 3 sides of standing would really work with Notts

If I had a say:

 

Convert the bottom of the Kop to safe standing. If this works, without detriment to crowd figures, public order etc etc. Then perhaps look at the family stand end.

 

I think it is right that the Sirrel and Pavis remain as all seating. Who knows in time if the demand is there, then eventually the Kop could become all SAFE standing.

When I was young I was always taken to a seated area so that I could see and didn't get pushed around.When I started going to matches with my mates we stood behind the goal at the Osmaston End of the Baseball Ground.This was fine and the atmosphere was enjoyable but as crowds got bigger, when The Rams became more successful, it became a bit of a crush.Although there were crush barriers ,whenever the action came to our end, there was always a surge forward,particularly at corner kicks,as people tried to get a better view.The Baseball ground had a doubledecker stand behind each goal with(if my memory is correct standing in the lower deck and seating in the upper deck.There was a seated main stand along one side with standing room on terracing in front and  the other side(The Popular Side) was standing only.There was standing on the terraces behind each goal in front of the stands

   .I don't see any problem having standing as at the Baseball Ground as long as admittance is strictly kept to a safe maximum and people aren't crammed in like sardines.The reason for introducing seating only was to prevent a crush similar to what happened at Hillsborough.I've stood on many grounds over the years and the only criticism I had was that too many people were crammed in together.

   I'm like Tony now though and prefer to sit!

Standing, properly stewarded and planned, need not be dangerous in the least nowadays, it is worth pointing out. The 'safe standing' system in Germany removes the risk of a crush to the same level as that of a seated stand.

And for what its worth, I love to see and use terraces. There's just something "proper" about a terrace.

Burton have a nice ground for League Two standard, it might also help with our fans to return to the Sirrel stand.

It's important that this is implemented in the right way if it were to come into force.

 

For example, not turning the Kop into entriely safe standing, not that I expect that would happen of course.

 

But why not at the top of the kop allow safe standing? It won't boost the crowd, but what it will provide is a far better atmosphere. That's why I sit in the Kop and I for one would love to see anything done that might enhance the atmosphere.

Despite saying and paying for a seat, I stood yesterday. My knee didn't like it, especially with the long journey home but you know what? I had a brilliant time stood around good friends and other fans who made it a good experience.

I think the fact of this is, we need to make sure it's standing zones.

Seats are needed! It would be silly to go from one to other, only to go back but it would be a welcomed improvement in terms of atmosphere.

I think if there was going to be standing area it would need to be in a well thought out area.

I would prefer it all to stay as seating as then theres an option to sit or stand.

Obviously fans jump up/stand up at times anyway but it is very annoying when you get someone standing in front of you the whole time when someone can't see behind them.

I prefer it with seating because theres abit of space between the fans then, everyones not all squashed up trying to see.

I Thought the Council had issues with the incline of the kop? Would love it if the top 10 - 15 rows were Safe standing, with a price tag of perhaps 12 - 15 Quid. 

 

I would love it if it came back and i can see a revitalisation of Football in the lower leagues. But we really have to make sure they are properly stewarded & Policed, as you don't want the Riff Raff back again lookiing for Cheap Tickets.

i would not like to stand, i prefer sitting. i only stand when i cant see and it dont like doing it!
