FA cup
Shall we try to make the Alfreton game special? @Fan of Big Tone @super_ram. Just like the old days? Come on, Super. You can stay warm, come to the game. It's a good draw, much better than being drawn away from home.

Match Discussion: Game 11 - The Spireites (A)
I thought it was an enjoyable derby, between two very good teams. I don't think Chesterfield can be compared to our style of passing play. Personally, I thought they were a bit more direct, and unafraid to take a chance. There were times when we tried to pass the ball out from the back, yet Chesterfield marked the defence quite heavily and made the space very compact. Knocking the ball backwards, and then sideways, to and from each other as Chesterfield tried closing us down just looked uncomfortable at times. I wish we would just try to draw teams out more, as we don't really look to create space but wait for it to open up. I'm not sure if this is always the best way, I mean I get the patient play but if nobody tries to lose their marker then we are playing into how the opposition wants. It was pleasing to see Dan Crowley try from distant, even though some of his efforts weren't really that good. All he needs is one of those chances to pay off, so I would actually encourage it. Kellan Gordon is very good in the transition going forward, losing his man and putting in balls into the box. With the likes of Jatta in the middle, this always seems likely to cause trouble and I do rate Gordon with his ability to float in clever crosses. Jodi Jones can over hit them, but Gordon seems more consistant with putting them in the right area. Both Sam Austin and, in the past, Aaron Nemane have been prone to overhitting their crosses. Chestefield did look lively, I thought they had done enough to seal the game but thankfully, Jatta managed to make something, and then David McGoldrick converted the saved penalty. It's got that thrill of a Derby day, with a late goal and a point.

Match Discussion: Game 11 - The Spireites (A)
If we play two strikers, then we need to make sure the bench has options. I don't mind one striker away from home, but to play Chesterfield I do think a single striker would limit us. Jevani Brown will most likely be on the bench, so will we opt for Jatta and David McGoldrick? I can't see Cedwyn Scott being played in an attacking position, unless we do start with him as a midfielder and switch things up. Then again, we could do that with David McGoldrick; it's really a limiting option though. McGoldrick and Jatta do work well, but then that leaves just Brown as backup as Scott will most likely be played out of position. I really do think with our limits up top, that if he is available for selection that we start giving a chance from time to time as a striker. I remember when we got promoted many Chesterfield fans saying they wouldn't have any of our players, though I think on paper we are stronger. As a team, I think they edge things and of course, then there's the home advantage. It's going to be a close game; I can't see either team running away with it. What are the chances of the deciding goal being scored around the 87th minute mark? I really hope we turn up, give a confident performance and can focus solely on our football. No issues with the officials etc.

An Alex Bass Masterclass.
I really hope Alex Bass can see that he was truly outstanding against Carlisle and is at no way at fault for the goal conceded against Port Vale. I can't imagine that it's something a keeper like him will really accept, but he has to look at the performances where he has been top draw and use it to get the defence to be more alert to the threat. Honestly, Carlisle was one of the best keeping performances I have seen from a Notts keeper. That is what Alex Bass brings to the team, so I am sure we'll see more top performances from him.

TNS gave a good account of themselves in Italy!
Fiorentina are a good team, not as good as they were in the 90s but still to only win by 2 goals, that alone for The New Saints is a great achievement. You would expect them to be thrashed, but the defeat is very respectable.

The Notts Transformation Under Stuart Maynard
Stuart Maynard has got much right so far; the transformation in our play and defending has been very promising. I think we can forget this past Saturday, against Port Vale - I think he was desperately trying to navigate a very tricky game. I don't think we had many options to really change the outcome there, so I would hope nobody takes that result or Gillingham as a means to dampen what has been a very promising transformation. One thing, which might seem critical - I believe Maynard must demand high performance levels in every game. Morecambe, Carlisle United and Port Vale have seen a mixture of performance. Yes, each of the games which proved to be difficult, two away from home, but I do think various things have impacted the performance. One way experienced league managers navigate these periods is by motivating their players to play at high levels. Yet it's nothing short of promising the transformation we have seen, and whilst we have done well, there are signs at times that we do miss Macaulay Langstaff and even Aaron Nemane. Nemane would have been someone who could have changed the outcomes against Gillingham and Port Vale, no doubt. Yet I acknowledge we have to use what we have, whilst maintaining the same high levels and hopefully, we can continue to see the success on the pitch.

Notts injury watch.
David McGoldrick said he would be back for Chesterfield yesterday after the game. Conor Grant, he doesn't think he will be out for the six weeks we've been told. Lucas Ness is likely to be longer than a few weeks. I didn't see Jodi Jones or Curtis Edwards yesterday. I was told JJ wasn't at the game, but I can't confirm it.

Match Discussion: Trophy - The Cobblers (H)
I hope we continue to give our youngsters a run out, other than that I wouldn't start or play Jatta/McGoldrick (Didzy is back next week). I would be tempted to give Scott a try up front, just so we can see if he would thrive better as a striker. I wouldn't risk losing Jatta or McGoldrick again. The chances of Scott picking up an injury seem much slimmer to me, so it could give him some vital minutes. Either him, or Jevani Brown.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Valiants (H)
I think it highlights how close teams are at the top end of League Two, I really don't think the match was boring or as bad as some of the comments I overheard during the game or have seen after it. Had Notts scored first, the game would have been so much different. That's not a question, because we would have grown into it more, and it would have forced Port Vale to be more open. I always felt like there wouldn't be many goals in the game. As I predicted and mentioned in the content before, I did feel 2 goals would be in it but at the same time I did feel it could easily just end up with a single goal. I missed that, I looked at my camera screen and the ball was by then in the back of the net. Looking at the highlights, I do think it looks offside and as for the foul mentioned by Stuart Maynard, I just don't know. I don't really think it matters, because we still need to focus on handling that situation. I felt frustrated, Port Vale players attempting to provoke our fans and that is never a good thing to see. It was good to see them eventually run to their own supporters, not sure the other group had to run to confront the Pavis Stand. They were happy to continue when we had players down, but threw a fit when they did it to time waste. Again, we just need to continue, but I do hope the club realises that we need another striker. Josh Martin unfortunately doesn't impress me, he does need further time, but I fail to see how he brings any of the benefits to our team that we haven't already got. Poor passes, lightweight on the ball and runs into areas where Port Vale can easily prevent him. I believe Sam Austin performed significantly better.

Opposition View: Lifelong Port Vale Fan Steven Crank Previews Notts County Clash
Introduction: Name: Steven Crank. How long have you supported Port Vale? 30 years. Are you a season ticket holder? Unfortunately, not because of work. Age? I’m 35. Favourite Player? Stephen McPhee Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you became a Port Vale fan? What are some of your earliest memories supporting the team? I’m 35 years old and a forklift truck driver. I’ve been following the Vale since I was 3 years old. My Nan used to take me until I was old enough to go with the lads. My earliest memories are beating Stockport 2-1 at Wembley to win the league trophy. I was 4 years old. What has been your most memorable match as a Port Vale supporter? Conversely, what has been the most heart-breaking moment for you? Apart from all the times we have beaten Stoke in local derbies, my most memorable moment was beating Tranmere at home 2-1. We needed to win to keep the play-off hope alive. Steve McPhee scored a 92nd-minute winner out of nowhere. Amongst that, Tom Pope scoring at the Etihad or Leon Constantine scoring to put us 1 up away at Tottenham. On the flip side, my most heartbreaking moment has to be beating Rushden and Diamonds away to get into the play-offs, meanwhile Swindon and Hartlepool played for a draw which halted our play-off push on the final day of the season. A win by either team would have cemented our place. How do you usually follow Port Vale matches? Do you prefer watching games live at the stadium, on TV, or listening to the radio? With work commitments, I tend to watch on my stream or radio but go as much as I can. I’ve been to a fair few grounds as well, some that no longer exist. What are your thoughts on Port Vale’s performance so far this season? Do you think they can secure a play-off place, or higher? While being quietly optimistic, it would be Vale all over to fizzle out. But with an experienced manager and the likes of Stockley, Byers, Benning, Garrity, and Chislett, we could easily get 3rd place. But it’s a dog-eat-dog league and anything can happen. How do you feel about the current management and coaching staff? Are there any changes you would like to see in the club’s strategy or approach? I’m happy with Darren Moore, although his interviews are boring as hell.???? I’d like to see a more attacking approach to games because it’s League 2. If you attack, you will get goals. We seem to score and sit back, and the inevitable always happens. How do you think Port Vale’s style of play compares to other teams in League Two? Are there any teams you particularly enjoy watching them play against? I haven’t seen enough teams yet so far to comment on this one. Anyone who plays attacking football is always good to watch. What are your thoughts on the upcoming match against Notts County? How do you think the game will go, and what do you predict the final score will be? While Jodi Jones is out, there is always a chance. Backed by 2300 Valiants, the away end will be rocking. But typical Vale, backed by a tremendous following, normally don’t turn up. Notts County is definitely one of the stronger teams in this league, so it’ll be a close game. I’m sitting on the fence with this one and saying 2-2, with goals from Ben Garrity and Jayden Stockley. Final comments from Chris This will be a game for both teams which will test their promotion credentials, a good result for Notts would be a welcomed return to winning ways after the frustrating defeat against Gillingham. Notts will be hoping the 12th man and home advantage will benefit them the most, as they take to the Meadow Lane pitch. With the absence of Jodi Jones, it will be noteworthy to see how Kellan Gordon does in the position and if he can continue the fight. Port Vale are in good form themselves, and will prove themselves to be a very difficult outfit to face on home soil. They will be looking to make it four wins in five or three draws in five, hoping to defeat at all costs. I can't see many goals being in the game, perhaps only two, and I am hoping both goals are to Notts, yet it may end 1-1. Pride of Nottingham has an exclusive interview with Kellan Gordon, where he shares his thoughts on the upcoming game, settling in at Notts County, and his ambitions for the club. Match Discussion: Game 9 - The Blues (A)
@Piethagoram I do feel, Carlisle were coming into the game more, but I do agree, the subs made it harde, butt I think had we seen more control - the changes would have found it easier to get themselves up to the speed of play. Once Jevani Brown came on, it looked like every ball was lumped forward and most wasn't near to him. Carlisle really turned things around in the second half. Watching the highlights, you can appreciate just how good Alex Bass is for us.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Valiants (H)
So, they should be bringing a fair amount. I hope they come friendly and lively, because when the Jimmy Sirrel stand is loud it does encourage the KOP. Port Vale are doing well, they'll be tough but I am not worried that they will outplay us. I am just encouraged to see how the game unfolds. I wonder how the team will look, considering we played mid-week and Saturday before that. It's good that Jatta, Cedwyn Scott and Scott Robertson are all back. I am really looking forward to the game, it should be a good test for both teams.

Match Discussion: Game 9 - The Blues (A)
I love grounds like Carlisle United's, Brunton Park is such an interesting ground. The fan zone that Liam Cole, a Carlisle supporter from our Opposition View, described to me is fantastic. It was great to see Notts fans mingling with Carlisle fans. The quirky options of food and drinks, being so open, right next to the ground, is something which Notts should look into for The Nest. The floodlights made it a bit difficult for me to see; it wasn't the best lit ground but also, my eyes can be a little off. I hadn't noticed that Alex Bass had sent a precise pass to Jatta, but I did see him skilfully control the ball and finish the opportunity brilliantly. That surge came at a good time, as I thought Carlisle were starting to find their own feet. Carlisle did come close in the first half, they had the header from a cross which went wide. That was a very dangerous attack, and difficult for their player to direct, but it was a good move. That was the only time I felt like I was on the edge of my seat. I'll explain why when I talk about the second half. In the second half I felt Carlisle were coming more into the game before Stuart Maynard made the changes. We looked like we had shut shop and had to become very defensive minded, which I have no arguments about. Our squad has played many minutes and the first half's intensity would have been a big thing for some of our returning players like Jatta and Scott Robertson. There were a lot of moans by a select few groups near me, who didn't like how the game had swayed and within their comments dismissed Carlisle as being a very poor team. Whilst, I would say they didn't defend very well at times in the first half, they played some excellent football and I felt that their issues weren't in the midfield but their defence and finishing. I don't like how some of our fans seem to think we can't be outplayed. Dismissing Carlisle's quality, which in the second half was inabudnace, I did feel that their lack of clinicalness would never see them beat Alex Bass. That's why, despite some moments where they looked comfortable, I never really returned to the edge of my seat. I thought defensively, Notts dealt with everything very well and Bass was class with everything that did get past our defence. It was a great result for Notts, our fans loved every minute of the game which was impressive to see the final cheers, after the whistle had blown for full-time.

Opposition View: Liam Cole on Carlisle United’s Rebuild Under Mike Williamson and Facing Notts County
Introduction: Name: Liam Cole. How long have you supported Carlisle United? My first proper memory with the Blues is probably the Leeds play-off game, since the 2007/08 season. Are you a season ticket holder? Unfortunately not. My work commitments mean I don’t get to all home games any more, but I still manage to attend about 80% of them. Age? 27. Favourite Player? My favourite player would be either Peter Murphy or Danny Grainger, both legends of the club’s recent past. What are the key strengths and weaknesses of Carlisle United, and how do they match up against Notts County’s style of play? Up until the change in manager, there weren't really any strengths in the team with the tactics being played. This will be Mike Williamson's third game in charge, and there are certainly signs that, given a bit of time and backing in the transfer window (which he will get with our new owners), we will be a formidable team. Our game against Grimsby on Saturday was a Jekyll and Hyde performance. Our performance in the first half was the best half of football in the last three seasons without a doubt. In the second half, we were sloppy and switched off. No doubt this will improve when the players build their fitness and get used to our new tactics. Hopefully, we will be playing front-foot, possession-based football, which is obviously only fully possible for one team, so it will be less a case of tactics and more a case of the execution of them as to who comes out on top on the day. How do Carlisle United fans feel about their team’s current position in the league, and what do they think needs to change to improve their standing? Obviously, given the new ownership and the backing of the previous regime, and head of recruitment Abbott, who is still here, but I would argue should be shown the door when our new position of sporting director is finally filled, we were expecting to be a big player in the league this season. Credit to Tom Piatak, he jumped early and replaced him with a manager with a positive future (hopefully with us!) instead of another off the merry-go-round. The signs in the two games so far are enough to suggest that if we continue on the same progress trajectory, then we should be more than safe this year, potentially with an outside shot at a playoff push. Who are the standout players for Carlisle United this season, and which Notts County players do they see as the biggest threats? All the players have suffered with the tactics of Paul Simpson this season. The only player signed this year that looks to have improved under his leadership is our right-sided defender Archie Davies. Obviously, under the right leadership and tactics, we have some incredibly talented players. Everyone in the lower league knows exactly what players like Jordan Jones and Charlie Wyke are capable of. Obviously, your injury to Jodi Jones is a big one and one that strengthens our chances. I'd expect Dan Crowley to play the biggest role in the game, being that our standout issue under Williamson is him wanting to play from the back and the question mark over defenders as to whether they fit into that style of play. His runs forward from midfield will cause us a lot of issues if our passing is not up to scratch. What is the atmosphere like at Brunton Park on match days, and how do Carlisle United fans prepare for big games like this one? The opposition fans' view on how we travel sums up the support the Blues have. Last season in League 1, most teams ranked us in the top 2 or 3 teams for away following to their grounds that season. The atmosphere at home games is not quite as renowned, and there are definitely more doom and gloomers, but the atmosphere is still there. The improvements to the ground have massively improved the match day experience and have, in turn, improved the atmosphere pre-match. I think one of the positives we have is that despite the improvements and changes to the ground with a brand-new fan zone, more hospitality boxes added, and the improved hospitality offerings, we have managed to keep the charm of the 'old school' stadium, which a lot of these new stadiums lack. We have a march from the town centre with flags down to the ground, which is organised by a group of people who stand in 'The Warwick'. This is, however, going to be made up of fans from all areas of the ground. How do Carlisle United supporters view their manager’s tactics and decisions, and what changes would they like to see in the upcoming match? It's still far too early in Mike Williamson's reign to comment, but I think the vast majority would agree that the early signs have been positive. There were grumbles at his appointment from a minority because of where MK Dons are in the league and the fact we paid a rumoured £200,000 release clause for him and his coaching staff when he was potentially on the verge of the sack. The flip side of that is he took them from 16th/17th last season and got them in the playoffs, albeit putting in the performance they did in the semis. The changes I would personally like to see are the cohesion and being able to execute the tactics like we did in the first half of the last game, for the full 90 minutes. What are the most memorable moments for Carlisle United fans from previous seasons, and how do they compare to past encounters with Notts County? The big ones that stand out for me personally are two visits to Wembley. Beating Brentford 1-0 in the JPT final, with Peter Murphy netting the goal 24 hours after the birth of his baby. Then there's the two weeks beating Bradford in the play-off semis and seeing their fans' tears, and then beating Stockport on penalties in our 'weekend in paradise'. Another core memory as a fan is taking Liverpool to penalties and Derek Asamoah scoring in front of the KOP and his celebration to the Liverpool fans. I genuinely believe that was the defining nail in Brendan Rodgers' coffin in his time at the club. He was sacked less than two weeks later. Had they lost, I reckon he'd have been sacked that night. Obviously, you're unbeaten in 5 against us if my memory is correct. However, the 5-0 at Meadow Lane is probably the defining memory against your team, with big Chaz scoring one and Jabo Ibehre netting a brace. Which young players have shown the most improvement in their form this year? And how do you think their development will impact the team’s performance in the upcoming matches? The obvious choices are the two Bournemouth boys, Dom Sadi and Dan Adu-Adjei. Dom Sadi, in particular, has shown massive potential in his first senior role. Most of our senior team aren't seen as 'young'. A couple of the YTS players put in some promising performances in preseason, and hopefully, they can snatch their chances if and when they come. Final comments from Chris I would like to express my gratitude to Liam for taking the time to answer my questions. I sent these quite late, and he has come through to give us a brilliant insight into his support of Carlisle United. As for the game, I would honestly take a point because it will allow us to remain undefeated. I can see Carlisle being more of a threat on goal, so defensive solitude will be of importance for Notts. The game should be fairly open, but I have concerns that Carlisle might lift themselves and pull off a good performance against us. I am passing on a prediction this time, it will be quite tight. Head over to Pride of Nottingham and join the match discussion, where fans are sharing their thoughts on the Carlisle United vs. Notts County clash! Match Discussion: Game 9 - The Blues (A)
We need to start brighter than we did against Morecambe, I think Carlisle are more capable than them as a team - with no disrespect to Morecambe. I just feel Carlisle have a stronger squad, even though they have started poorly. I think the game should be a lot more controlled, as compared to Morecambe. I don't see Carlisle wasting energy or throwing themselves into the game straight away. I can see them being more patient on the ball and structured at the back. I would agree, Jevani Brown is unlikely to start. I am hoping we do see Kellan Gordon because he looks to be the best option we have with Jodi Jones being injured. I am sure whatever line-up Stuart Maynard chooses, we'll be competitive, and I am sure we will start better. Notts just needs to be structured at the back, and a lot more careful when committing themselves to crosses and corners.

This Annoys Me About Notts
These days, with sponsors, it's very important teams make sure they wear the appropriate shirts. It's just one of those things, because it can affect clubs when trying to obtain sponsors for their shirt. Unless, we had just one which is quite rare to see these days. I personally think we should be wearing the orange shirt more, instead of the purple, and I actually prefer the third kit. I just think it highlights how Notts made a mistake to go with three shirts, instead of making the purple one more available instead of a limited edition thing. Away shirts are important for the part they play in sponsors.

Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Shrimps (A)
I don't think it's fair to discredit how Morecambe played; they started brightly and really worked well as a team to get that early goal. There were shouts of offside and handball where I sat, but I couldn't make it out. The way they played a high game and literally made everything we tried to do early on much harder. It made us start the way we did, which wasn't good at all. I think early on, we needed to switch things but again, Morecambe had a gameplay, and they stuck to it. It made us work much harder, in a very ineffective way. We played far too wide, which meant it forced Notts into passing the ball around and Morecambe did this, so that they could put all their energy in making it difficult to make space to attack. I wasn't so much that we missed Jatta or Jodi Jones; it was a lack of adapting to Morecambe's game plan. I am not sure if we should have played three at the back, as this narrowed our chances of building at the back. Whilst I thought David McGoldrick was superb, he was isolated up top and although Notts tried to combat this with kicking the ball up to him. It came at the cost of being able to move in and behind Morecambe, tactically they wanted to keep the ball in front of them where our attacking players would be forced to overthink things. Conor Grant got a lot of stick, especially early on but again, Morecambe made everything much harder. We were missing speed, direct runs, and players creating space while utilising the channels. We would move forward, pass back, pass to a defender, then they would either pass to another defender or try to hit the ball up field. The idea wasn't bad to try to keep on the ground, but when it hit the air, it played into their hands. McGoldrick did wonders with trying to hold up the ball, but with how we were set up, and the formation meant that the midfield had to do a lot of unnecessary running. When the running became useful to making a good attack, due to the high amount of running it meant we made poor passes, ended up running into danger or just over ran until it was easy to pick the ball up. I thought defensively, we improved, but the passing didn't. The performance wasn't good in the first half, but credit must go to Morecambe who had a team game focus and wanted to make things more complicated. In the first half, I would like to have seen us try to push up and switch to four at the back. Make the wing backs retain their wide positions but get the defence to push up in support and encourage the midfield to make runs/movement in the centre of the park. The second half, I felt changes needed to be made in order for Notts to adapt to how Morecambe played. The changes Stuart Maynard made did help to influence the game; I do feel they were made later than I think they should have done. Jevani Brown infused the much-needed speed into our game. I think he should have started. I thought it was a shame Kellan Gordon didn't start, unsure why he didn't, but I thought he would have helped. Morecambe early tactics would see them start to lose ground, which they did and some of their players looked to be struggling fitness wise. The final 20–25 minutes could have seen Notts win, before we had an excellent one-on-one where Morecambe did well. I don't think the finish was the best and Morecambe still continued to cause us trouble at times, the disallowed goal was a bit of nightmare for the first minute or so, it did look like they may have scored a second. It wasn't a good performance, but it's a point I feel we should respect. The officials were disappointing, but tactically we could have changed to bring us more involved much earlier on. I thought Morecambe's defence looked quite weak, by the time they realised we had grown into the game they did start to put players behind the ball more/park the bus. Also, their antics with time-wasting, the officials should have clamped down on. It was a difficult game, Jatta would have had the same issue McGoldrick had. If we had Jodi Jones, he might have been able to shake things up, but the biggest issue in my eyes is the lack of space we created when in passing phases. Instead of working as a team to move forward, Notts allowed Morecambe to make it more difficult to play. A point is a fair result, it does feel like we should have got all three points, but then we left it late.

Opposition View: Mark Shore's "Get Out of Our Club" Message to Morecambe's Owner
Introduction: Name: Mark Shore. How long have you supported Morecambe? 21-years. Are you a season ticket holder? Yes. Age? 35. Favourite Player? Danny Carlton. How do you feel about Morecambe’s current position in League Two, and what do you think are the main factors contributing to their struggles this season? I am not happy with us being bottom of the league. We play well, but things are not going our way. All this is because of our owner, Jason Whittingham. How did the transfer embargo affect the team’s ability to strengthen the squad, and what impact do you think it has had on their overall performance? It is hard to sign players under a transfer embargo. Signing 15 players in one day is challenging. What are your views on the management and coaching staff’s approach to the season, and do you think any changes are needed to improve results? It was out of his control, Adam's hand, because he doesn't know how much money he can spend on players. How do you see the rest of the season unfolding for Morecambe, and what are your expectations for the team’s performance in the upcoming matches? I hope we finish mid-table. I hope we can get 6 points in the next 3 games. How do you think Notts County’s defence will handle Morecambe’s attacking threats in the upcoming match? I think Notts County's defence will handle it fine. Which player from Notts County do you believe will make the most impact in the game against Morecambe, and why? Jacob Bedeau, I think he will because he is an ex-Morecambe player. Dan Crowley too. What role do you think the club’s leadership and board have played in the current situation, and what actions do you believe they should take to address the issues? Just make sure our owner sells the club. At the moment, he doesn't want to sell it. JASON WHITTINGHAM, GET OUT OF OUR CLUB AND SELL THE CLUB! Final comments from Chris Fans might be thinking that the game will be routine from the Notts perspective, although I expect Morecambe to put a strong performance. Defensively, Morecambe can struggle from set pieces and corners which is something I would like to see magpies make use of. I fully expect Morecambe to attempt to disrupt our passing play, with them trying to mount attacks on the break. If Notts control the game and create good scoring opportunities, it could see a number of goals but even if this is the case - Morecambe have the ability to shut teams out or make the opposition work. My prediction would be 3-0 to Notts. I wish Morecambe fans all the best, and hope their season picks up. Ricardo Moniz's new position
I really hope this is the club where he can settle, and use his knowledge of the game to help them further. He sounds like he's doing a fantastic job, so hopefully we'll still see him in charge of them for another season or two, ideally longer but with a lot of changes in football. Ricardo Moniz is a fantastic coach, with his insight into the game, but it's right now where he's showing his class as a manager.

Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Shrimps (A)
Morecambe could have a turning point at any moment, I feel sorry for them because I don't think they should be in this position and having signed 15 players in a single day, that is a lot of players needing to settle into a new environment. I have seen their highlights, they don't play badly but can be caught out. Defensively, I do see that they have weaknesses and this should be somewhere Notts tries to cause as many problems with as possible. I would hope we can make the most of set pieces and corner kicks, as Morecambe do throw bodies and it can become a little chaotic. I do think we'll get the time to shoot, even without set pieces, but Morecambe are very capable in attacking despite not having won yet. If they remain as a team, we might struggle to take our chances but if they become disconnected - that is where the game would unfold.
