It’s always nice to see who people vote for, even if I don’t agree with the choice. Everyone sees the game a bit differently, and that’s part of the fun. Matthew Dennis gave it a good go, and I respect the work he put in. I’d be happy to say well done to him for being named Pride of Nottingham’s Man of the Match.

I remember when Forest Green Rovers replaced Duncan Ferguson with Hannah Dingley. This feels very similar, but now it’s a Punjabi coach with no experience as a manager and not much time coaching senior teams. It seems like the owners are trying to make a statement and get attention, rather than thinking about football. I hope it goes well, but I’m not sure it will.

Solid interview. Clear that there's a long-term plan in place. Can’t ask for more than that at this level.

Notts did everything in the first half except score. It was some of the best attacking football we’ve played, and it looked like we were really going for it. A goal then could have changed the whole game. Newport came out with a different approach in the second half. They put us under pressure and turned it into more of a battle. It took us a while to adjust to what they were doing.

Matt Palmer looked like he had springs in his boots. He was quick across the pitch and showed real determination throughout the game. It felt like he was trying to prove he’s got what it takes to be captain, and he backed it up with a strong performance.

Felt like we should’ve come away with all three points. Loads of promise though.

Who do you think Martin Paterson should focus on to help Notts become more competitive? I realise football is a team sport, but I'm curious to hear which individuals people believe could make a real difference if they had their best season. It’s about giving that extra bit of support, whether that's mentoring, boosting confidence, or guiding someone tactically. Think back to Adam Chicksen. His performances played a massive part in getting us back into the Football League. So, who do you feel could be that player this season?

I’ve got a feeling, even though most people don’t agree, that Matt Palmer will stay as captain. He has my full backing, but if someone else takes the role, I’ll support them too. Jacob Bedeau looks like the clear next option to me.
