The Notts County Squad 2024/25
Itโs delightful to see the beginning of a career for a young player. Signing a professional contract must be a dream come true, and it would be lovely to see him do well, even if he just passes through Notts. Iโd like to see a larger squad with more depth. In time, it would be nice to see players like James Sanderson, Ryley Reynolds, and others, but this may take time and seasons for them to fully blossom into regular starters, if the club could be bold enough to provide that opportunity. This doesnโt mean I wouldnโt want them to get game time. Having a larger squad simply means you have cover and players who can rotate, and I do think thereโs room for a few more signings.

Where are they now : John Bostock
John Bostock quickly missed partnering with Matt Palmer. I think the arrival of Scott Robertson has the club thinking that this duo should make their mark in the central areas of our midfield. I believe Robertson might be played in a more defensive role when Palmer returns to regular play. This leaves the club needing to find another defensive midfielder, but I donโt think Bostock would want to be a benchwarmer or an occasional player. We need to find someone who can push to be exactly that, which I donโt think Bostock would be again, considering how poorly his season ended last year.

Morocco v Argentina, Olympic Games
I didnโt watch the match and this is the first Iโve heard of it, but South American teams do have fans who can get a bit wild if they feel cheated. I find it ironic that Argentina feels hard done by, considering they have cheated multiple times in major international competitions. So, a decision didnโt go their way; they should move on and accept it. I suspected that Spainโs second goal might have been offside in the Euro 2024 final, but I wonโt lose sleep over it.

Just Supposing.
I hope that we transition to a different style of head coach, specifically someone with more league experience, if and when Stuart Maynard departs. I have nothing but respect for Luke Williamsโ tenure at Notts; he was a brilliant person to listen to. However, we need to move on from the past. If he becomes available when Notts is seeking a new head coach, I hope they choose differently and opt for someone who has enjoyed multiple promotions in the EFL.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Zebras (A)
Itโs always enjoyable to see how Notts measures up against an international team, especially in a friendly match. The relaxed atmosphere allows the players to perform without any pressure. They can simply savour the event, which hopefully translates into a strong team performance. The fans who can attend are indeed fortunate.

County sign striker Mellon
Itโs a seasonal loan, not a permanent agreement. If he performs well, his value might exceed what teams in the lower half of League One can afford. Overall, itโs a promising signing.
-
Alassana Jatta
The decision to sign Jatta when Notts did last season provides him with ample time to acclimate to life in England and adapt to the dynamics of League Two. He appears to be a proficient finisher who understands the game well and knows precisely where to position himself. If he gets more playtime this season, his performance statistics should be impressive.
-
Crawley Town sell-off
My sympathies are with Crawley Town and their supporters. Itโs common for teams to lose players after a promotion, but this is their first promotion in a while, and itโs always ambitious to aim for a repeat of the previous seasonโs success. I suspect they might face difficulties, but I hope their new signings will help mitigate the impact of losing players.

Notts Dutch training camp
As I understand it, theyโre essentially expressing their good wishes to Notts and expressing gratitude for our choice to use their training facilities. Itโs a fairly standard message, but itโs nice to see nonetheless. Their facilities appear picturesque, offering beautiful scenery and excellent training conditions.

Cameron to St Johnstone?
Itโs a strange transfer, but I can see the sense in it. St Johnstone obviously wanted someone to lead their team. Giving him the armband makes me think he will eventually join them permanently. Otherwise, why make him their captain? I also think Notts should have tried to get a small fee for him. I bet theyโre paying his wages, but if it doesnโt work out, itโs doubtful he will come back here, especially after what heโs said.

Will Randall departs
Itโs a situation that didnโt work out. It seemed like an ideal signing, but not everything goes as planned. Best of luck to Will Randall; he needs to play every week. He wonโt get that here. It was doubtful he would be a first-team player when he signed. This is for the best.
-
Was it a Penalty?
It doesn't matter what I think; the referee awarded it, and only the Dutch will be complaining. If any English fans complain about it, they need their heads examined.

End of an Era: Macaulay Langstaff's Unforgettable Journey at Notts County
Great player. He leaves with my respect, and I hope he excels in the Championship. Such a great goalscorer, but more than that, he gives everything on the pitch, and that desire is unbeatable. Best wishes, Macca.

Season Tickets Sold
A decent number of tickets have been sold so far. Now that theyโre available for general sale, itโll be intriguing to see if any new supporters or previous season ticket holders who havenโt renewed for a few seasons decide to return. The final number of tickets sold will always be a reflection of our fan base.

Connell Rawlinsonโs Departure: Five Memorable Years at Meadow Lane
I hold Connell Rawlinson in high regard. His decision to leave on mutual terms may be distressing, but itโs commendable as heโs acted in the clubโs best interest. This move doesnโt largely benefit him, even though it allows him to find a club where heโs likely to play more. In a sport where some are content to sit idle just for a salary, I greatly respect Rawlo. Heโs endured a lot with us.
-
Farewell Rawlinson
Thank you, Connell, for all your hard work and dedication. You've been a rock for us. Sad to see you go but wishing you the very best in whatever comes next for you.

thoughts on how the notts team is developing?
I believe thereโs still scope for enhancements, perhaps another right-footed centre-back. An attacking-minded midfielder could be a valuable addition. If we were to lose Macaulay Langstaff - and Iโm not suggesting we will - but that would necessitate finding a suitable replacement.
-
Defender Rod McDonald Joins Notts
He appears to be a sturdy addition to the team. Notts are constructing what seems to be a very equitable and balanced side. The defensive reinforcements, such as Rod McDonald, are greatly appreciated.

Curtis Edwards joins Notts
Curtis Edwards appears to be a valuable addition to the team. I concur with others that he brings a unique element to the squad. Itโs reassuring to have some experienced players in the midfield. I believe he and Matt Palmer will be in sync on the field.

Matt Palmer Interview & Catch up.
The club conducted a commendable interview with Matt Palmer. He seems eager to return, even though it might take some time. However, he should be ready by the start of the season. Iโm excited to see him don the Notts shirt again.

Matt Palmer Opens Up: Injury Struggles and Triumphs at Notts County
Iโve always rated Matt Palmer, but his recent feats have really boosted my respect for him. His New York engagement shows his love for life, and his vice-captaincy underlines his importance to Notts County. His candidness about his injury struggles makes him all the more admirable. Itโs brilliant to see him bouncing back stronger. As fans, weโre buzzing about his return and the possible link-up with Scott Robertson. Their teamwork on the pitch could be a real game-changer. Palmerโs journey is a shining example of grit and positivity.
