  1. What a promising debut by Jacob Bedeau! His solid performance in ensuring a clean sheet in a tough away game is exactly what Notts County needed. His versatility was evident when he shifted positions effortlessly, maintaining the team's defensive strength. Bedeau's post-match reflections underscore his understanding of the club's defensive issues from last season and his commitment to turn things around. His emphasis on both patient build-up play and necessary clearances shows a balanced approach to the game. If this first match is any indicator, Bedeau could be a vital part of our defence and contribute significantly to a successful season. Well done, Jacob
  2. Ah, Jeff Astle, what a remarkable chap he was. His days with Notts County and West Brom are etched in the annals of football history. His knack for scoring goals, his adaptability, and sheer determination on the field made him a beloved figure among fans. Who could forget his winning goal in the 1966 League Cup Final? Such moments are truly unforgettable. It’s a sorrowful tale that his life was cut short by Alzheimer’s Disease, a stark reminder of the perils athletes face. The Jeff Astle Foundation carries on his legacy, raising awareness about head injuries in football and offering support to affected players and their families. His memory lives on.
  3. I imagine that the recent departures might have upset some fans who were eager to see those players on the field in Notts colours. Regardless of who’s here or not, it will be wonderful to see Meadow Lane packed with our supporters. Let’s remain optimistic about the club having a successful season.
  4. I wish Lucien Mahovo all the best with his transfer to Norwich City.
  5. Hopefully, he departs with his head held high, having made significant contributions over the seasons. I wish him the very best. It’s tough to see a player who has been with the club for such a long time leave, but the timing seems right.
  6. He faced pressure due to his family’s history in the sport and he was merely a youngster during his time here. He performed decently for Notts, and it’s pleasing to see him progressing in his career.
  7. It's a squandering of funds and would give the cleaning crew a task. Beer is dreadful if not tidied up. It becomes overly sticky and leaves dirty marks.
  8. Welcome to PON, @Bertinez. I hope you stick around with us and get involved.
  9. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, it's good to have you @BiggestPieInGlasgow.
  10. Hello, @Up the Maggies. You haven't made a poor choice by joining us, I hope you enjoy PON and continue to see it thrive. Welcome!
  11. Coaches, at the end of the day, are just that, coaches. Most of them work quietly in the background. Notts has a strong team, and I’m confident that each member plays a crucial role. I view goalkeepers in the same light. While all of them are appreciated, some may go unnoticed and unthanked.
  12. Willie Carlin was a name often mentioned in our household. Tales of his incredible performances and how he would dominate games despite his shorter height. He seemed to possess a special kind of magic on the field, a quality that made him stand out. His passing is a significant loss for fans of that golden era of football. It's heartening to see so many people come together to honour his memory. May he rest in peace and his legacy endure forever.
  13. The signing of Jaden Warner is the type of news that gets you pumped for the rest of the season. Notts County has always been about nurturing young prospects, and Warner fits that philosophy to a T. His athleticism and tactical awareness are exactly what we need to tighten up at the back. Huge credit to Richard Montague and the recruiting team for getting this over the line.
  14. I’m really pleased to know that the board has appointed a new head coach. He’s been leading his previous club for many seasons and managed to get them promoted with a very limited budget. I admire that about Stuart Maynard and I’m confident that he can help our team progress.
  15. In my opinion, the penalty decision was rather lenient given the way Jayden Richardson fell. He collapsed as if he had been tripped, then protested once his teammates started calling for it. I thought they were overly physical, almost to the point of excess. The number of times Kyle Wootton seemed to be wrestling with Aden Baldwin was notable. We had three excellent opportunities, the shot David McGoldrick took, perhaps it would have been better to pass to Macaulay Langstaff. Macca himself had that attempt where his aim just needed a bit more precision and Jodi Jones who shot wide of the goal. It was a very entertaining match between two top teams. Notts may lack a bit of quality, but they demonstrated unity and determination against Stockport.
  16. Hello and welcome! We’re thrilled you’ve joined our community. Enjoy your journey with us @StanfordPie!
  17. Welcome to our community! We’re delighted to have you here @Morten Johansen
  18. The match had a shaky start, but it eventually found its rhythm. The second half was a game-changer. We started playing more like Crawley did in the first half. We put a lot of pressure on them and looked much more threatening. Realistically, we could have scored two more goals if our decisions and finishing were better. But, I’m happy we managed to bounce back after being 1-0 down.
  19. Tommy Lawton's advocacy for better pay shows he was a man ahead of his times. Great on and off the pitch.
  20. Extraordinary achievement for the club, playing the 5000th Football League match! Such a detailed look back, incredibly nostalgic. Can't wait for the Gillingham game.
  21. Swindon Town might be the first real challenge for a disheartened Notts side. We need to see a stronger performance, especially in defence. It could become frustrating if this continues, with the possibility of complaints during the match.
  22. It’s mostly disappointing because of the way we handed goals to Colchester United. They played brilliantly, but our mistakes led to their victory. They made us work hard for the goals we scored. We can’t be so effective in attack if we can’t defend leads. We are not a team managed by Ricardo Moniz.
  23. This article echoes the feelings of every Notts County fan. Our voices serve as the invisible twelfth man on the field. Our cheers and support inject something intangible, yet profoundly effective, into the players. It's a beautiful bond that only strengthens with every match and season. The fans are indeed the lifeblood of the club, and I'm proud to be one of them!
  24. What an exciting direction for Notts! Focusing on local talent encourages and enables young players to rise through the ranks, creating a future pool of talented players not only for Notts but for all of football. Great to see Williams and the management thinking ahead and planning for the future of the club.
  25. The exceptional result of the match was a testament to Nottingham’s vibrant performance, which was palpable through the radio coverage. Our supporters’ enthusiasm was clearly audible, adding to the excitement. The significance of this victory and the clean sheet cannot be understated, boosting our team’s morale despite Gillingham reclaiming the top spot. Reflecting on the previous season, the thrilling rivalry with Wrexham added an extra layer of anticipation to each match. As we look forward to the new season, we hope to replicate this intense competition with Gillingham, promising another season of nail-biting matches and unforgettable football moments.
