  1. I think a striker would be enough to give us more firepower up top. I do like Jatta starting. I think he’ll thrive playing at Meadow Lane, but he should be able to pick up some goals on the road. So, I wouldn’t want his chances being reduced. I just feel that a striker of a different style would be good in certain situations.
  2. My perspective is that if this was a future game, Notts would have been more persistent with their efforts on goal and would have won it on another day. With it being the first game of the season and the dust of the pre-season having settled, I do like what I see. You can see how more confidence in the defence will benefit Notts going forward with more time and effort. I don’t feel disappointed or that the game was boring. It wasn’t the most exciting, but at the same time, it wasn’t dull. It’s a typical first game of the season, where Notts showed some real quality in the second half. Just one of those chances could have paid off and made all the difference. I don’t think anyone should be complaining.
  3. What a performance from our lads, even if it did end in a draw. We completely dominated the game with over 65% possession - you don't see that too often in an away match. Tranmere's defence held strong, but they were lucky not to concede. Our debutants showed great promise and Bass in particular was a standout. If we keep playing like this, the results will come. Maybe just a bit more sharpness in front of goal and we’d be talking about a win today. Not concerned yet, as it’s early days and the team is gelling. Looking forward to seeing more fluidity and goals in the upcoming games.
  4. I really get where you're coming from. It's evident that your YouTube channel has been a significant part of your life, and deciding whether to continue must be really tough. That balance between personal enjoyment and the pressure of content creation can be challenging. Perhaps giving yourself a break might be good. You could test the waters, step back for a bit, and see how you feel without the pressure. If you miss it and feel motivated again, then return with a fresh mindset. Ultimately, it's about what makes you happy. Your genuine approach will be missed if you take a step back, but everyone's well-being should come first.
  5. It’s always a pleasure to see a young player sign a contract with the club, and to witness all the fans extending their good wishes. Being a young professional is a challenging task, but I always hope they succeed, as their success is beneficial to the club.
  6. A warm welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @jake008! Your presence adds to our community.
  7. A warm welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! Your presence @Mark Holland adds to our community.
  8. Randall’s exit could be a hidden blessing. It seems to have paved the way for today’s arrival, who I hope is a suitable player that can contribute consistently. It’s unfortunate when a player’s tenure doesn’t work out, but I’m optimistic about our future direction.
  9. It seems the club waited until the day before a match to finalise things between Millwall and Macaulay Langstaff. Hopefully, seeing the squad and some trialists will help put people’s minds at ease and provide a new focus. The outcome of the match will only be significant to those who believe that winning friendly matches guarantees success in the league.
  10. England might want to reconsider changing the formation, unless it can truly bring out the best in the squad. We could end up putting more pressure on the defence. Shifting to three centre backs could work, but the question remains, which three do we start with?
  11. Best of luck to Connell Rawlinson on his move, he might find employment with a club like Newport. With the right team, he should be able to extend his career by a few more years.
  12. I’m pleased he’s returned to football, overcoming a nasty injury is no easy feat. I’m confident he hasn’t lost any of his skill.
  13. Connell Rawlinson’s sentimental message shows the true character of the man we’ve come to respect and admire. Reflecting on his five years, we see a player who wore his heart on his sleeve. To hear him describe playing for Notts County as an honour reminds us of his dedication. He contributed significantly, particularly in helping the club achieve promotion back to the EFL. His appreciation for the fans and his parting message show just how much he treasured his time here. Good luck, Connell.
  14. Curtis Edwards joining Notts is a significant boost for the team. His time in Scandinavian football has clearly shaped him into a thoughtful and skilled player. His emphasis on the club's playing philosophy and his eagerness to contribute right from the start are promising signs. It's evident that he values the strategic aspects of football, which will be a great addition to our squad. I appreciate his readiness to take on challenges and his commitment to being part of the team’s journey. His comments reflect a player who is not only talented but also dedicated and forward-thinking. Here's to a season filled with exciting gameplay and success with Edwards in the mix.
  15. I’m delighted with the acquisition of the seasoned Rod McDonald. It’s encouraging to see the club persistently augmenting the squad and signing players for a fee to bring in that additional calibre.
  16. It’s always a joy to see Notts showcased on the big screen. The club should feel just as proud as us fans to witness it.
  17. Hello, @Up the Maggies. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. The use of the word 'Maggies' in your username suggests to me your fan who has been around for awhile? When did you first start supporting Notts.
  18. Fantastic news about Meadow Lane's renovations! Matt Hallam and his team deserve immense credit for maintaining the old pitch, and these changes will make their job so much easier. It's also forward-thinking to install undersoil heating, even if it’s not connected yet. The club has made a substantial investment, and it’s clear they are committed to providing the best possible environment for players and fans alike. This transformation positions us well for the future, potentially hosting major events and ensuring the ground remains in top condition. Can’t wait to see the changes in action!
  19. This piece rightly highlights the mixed blessings of loan players. The temporary nature of these signings often leaves fans with a sense of what could have been. However, in the absence of significant investment, loan players provide a necessary solution to immediate problems. The real challenge lies in integrating these players without compromising the development and morale of the existing squad.
  20. Cal Roberts might be nearing the end of his career due to his ongoing injuries, which is unfortunate. He can’t keep playing when he’s so prone to injury. I hope I’m wrong, as I’d love to see him do well in the football league, but it seems unlikely. At least that dream seems over.
  21. I felt then and still believe that it should have been a red card. I don’t understand how the referee could have given a yellow card considering the risk involved. No one can deny it was reckless. He went straight through Jodi Jones, and it would have been safer to use a large pair of sharp scissors.
  22. Teams are starting to strengthen and add quality to their squads, and we’re no different. However, I’m concerned about our recent foray into the loan market. While Jaden Warner is a quality addition, the young goalkeeper is relatively unknown. I’m worried that we haven’t adequately addressed squad depth, which could haunt us later. As other teams become more cohesive with new signings, we seem to be keeping our squad numbers on the lean side.
  23. Stuart Maynard’s pre-match interview was insightful, giving fans plenty to ponder. His concise and detailed responses make it easy to understand his perspective. His appointment is indeed exciting.
  24. The Scottish leagues do offer excitement, but the quality of football outside their Championship is average. The issue of clubs going under is unlikely to change.
  25. Regarding Tom’s tweet, he tends to maintain a polite and optimistic outlook without offering much personal insight. He avoids ruffling feathers, except when criticising certain players. While the appointment is good, there’s room to criticise Forest Green for spending more on squad improvements. Troy Deeney’s comments send a negative message about the squad’s faith and the need for improvements. This contradicts the question of whether they’ll avoid relegation. As a football analyst, one would expect him to favour one side or the other. Tom provides great insight but seems hesitant to make calls that might upset his readers. While he doesn’t need to be harsh, being overly positive can affect credibility.
