  1. As a former Notts player, I hope Alan Sheehan successfully extends his football career into coaching and management. He was an effective captain and should be a valuable addition to any club. Best of luck to him.
  2. Harrogate has adjusted well to League Two, their manager is thoroughly familiar with the club and Luke Williams has praised him in the recent press conference before this weekendโ€™s match. I hope Luke can bring out the best in whoever starts the game. I miss the matches where we didnโ€™t have to make changes and Iโ€™m beginning to think that this squad doesnโ€™t enjoy playing in the cold, which is hard to believe as working hard would warm them up more.
  3. The emphasis on maintaining momentum is absolutely crucial and the fact that Williams is acknowledging this openly is laudable. I believe that for Notts County, this holds even more significance given their status as a promoted club. It's not just about scoring first but about maintaining that lead - the latter being often tougher. Well done to Williams for not shying away from publicly discussing these issues. Also, the fact that Williams is focusing on the need for consistency in performance couldn't be more timely. They can't afford any lapses in their defensive efforts or ball control. Acquiring new talent in the January transfer window could provide some much needed fresh energy and skill to the team. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.
  4. Iโ€™m surprised that no one has initiated a petition for this. If they have, then Iโ€™m equally surprised that I havenโ€™t come across it. While itโ€™s something that should be done, few people seem to genuinely care. They might complain about it, but when it comes to taking action, thereโ€™s usually silence.
  5. I wholeheartedly back Williams's sentiment of focusing on performance over mere results. If the team can perfect their defensive play, the victories will naturally follow. But it's a process that takes time and patience, which I hope our fanbase can provide.
  6. Wimbledon wonโ€™t want us to have much ball possession. Theyโ€™re a competent team who can adapt, but theyโ€™ll be aware that we pose a threat if weโ€™re allowed to play our usual game. So far, the teams that have performed well against us have found ways to disrupt Nottsโ€™ start. The frustration makes it difficult to gain momentum, so my concern is conceding a goal because itโ€™s a setback that will likely give them the upper hand and make the game more open.
  7. Dan Crowleyโ€™s performances have been brilliant this season and itโ€™s great to hear heโ€™s excited about playing, which only proves the positive impact Notts Countyโ€™s atmosphere has on its players. His recognition of the crucial role of recovered players like John Bostock and Richard Brindley also underscores his team spirit.
  8. I must say, Notts Countyโ€™s journey this season has been something to behold. Their swift climb up to the top end is indicative of a team that's putting their all into every match, reaching for their zenith. Also, feature players stepping up when it matters most have been a significant driving force behind the team's success. While it's unfortunate regarding Jones' suspension, it's heartening to hear that the rest of the squad is fit and ready to go. It helps underscore the team's depth. I'm confident in Notts' ability to turn this into a classic encounter.
  9. The work of our executives in connecting with fans shouldn't go unnoticed, their dedication to nurturing this connection sets us apart from many clubs. It allows us to feel that our voices are indeed heard.
  10. Notts must strive for the points, with performances needing to return to a consistent level. A victory over Crewe could serve as a catalyst for rejuvenation. I don't underestimate Crewe, as they should adopt the same approach. Neither our team nor theirs should settle for a draw.
  11. Sometimes you just have to be a part of something different. No doubt, he could play at a higher level, and it's a great signing. His age would see him start to consider his options, and if he wants to play, coming here could prolong his career. Good luck to him.
  12. With Warnockโ€™s retirement, we should expect to see him on TV as a commentator, even if itโ€™s not as frequent as when he was managing a club. The response to the chant is fantastic.
  13. Hello, @Morten Johansen, Welcome to the community and PON.
  14. It's great to see how the relationship between Notts County and its fans isn't just acknowledged, but actively fostered. Every cheer, every show of downheartedness at a loss, every moment of anticipation during a close game - all these contribute to making the football experience what it is. The symbiotic interchange of support and performance is unique to sports, and it's heartening to see it so strongly expressed for Notts. Football isn't just a spectator sport - every fixture becomes an interactive experience, which we owe to the fans. Community is an often-unspoken aspect of football, and Magpies' certainly has one of the most vibrant, committed ones.
  15. McGoldrick once again vindicated why he's an integral part of the team. It's brilliant how he dictated the match's rhythm and claimed control from the get-go. His two goals were not only beautifully executed, but they were what set the tone for Notts County. Moreover, his tireless effort and spirit to keep pushing, particularly during the second half, is laudable. It's players like him that craft thrilling football moments. Besides, let us not ignore his wisdom in recognising that we are just nine games into the season. Maintaining this winning mindset would be crucial for the progression of the season.
  16. These stunning photos managed to capture the sweet victory and euphoria at Meadow Lane. It's all the more valuable when we recall the four hard years we've been through in the National League. Onwards and upwards!
  17. Rawlinson's modesty is commendable. Despite his important role in the victory, he acknowledges the strength and depth of the squad. This kind of team mentality will be crucial for the long season ahead. I have faith in Notts' ability to continue their excellent performances. The fans' support and the players' determination will surely lead to even more victories. Keep up the great work, Notts County!
  18. Excellent team performance; the defence looked much more like what we want to see, and nobody should be complaining that Tranmere Rovers scored. I also believe Tranmere did well in spells and perhaps arenโ€™t given the credit they deserve. I do agree, they didnโ€™t perform well enough to take anything from the game, but that is mostly due to how terrible their defending was. They looked weaker than Doncaster Rovers did, in my opinion. I am glad Notts held on to the win, as it would have been unlucky for us to lose such a game we dominated.
  19. Has there been any talk of punishment about this? The Premier League needs to take some form of action; itโ€™s baffling as to why he would admit this. If a manager gets in trouble for fielding what others believe to be a weakened squad, players and managers can be fined for bringing dispute to the game. Then Dean needs some form of repercussion.
  20. I am really impressed by the team's formidable defensive display in today's match, especially given the fact that we were reduced to ten men. We had an exceptional start with the early goal by McGoldrick which set the tone for the match. The second goal added by Rawlinson was perfectly timed to double the lead. The team showed immense grit and determination, clearly demonstrating that the will to win is significantly more potent than the fear of losing. Couldn't be prouder of Notts.
  21. Tranmere Rovers fans are doubtful that they will turn their fortunes around just yet. Now, knowing our luck, they will against us. At least before our current owners, this would almost certainly be the case. I think Notts should be fine. The worst-case scenario in my mind would be to lead, only to end up drawing, but I wouldnโ€™t complain. Itโ€™s a difficult game regardless of their league position.
  22. One step at a time, that's the right attitude. Keep pushing forward, You Pies!
  23. He shows impeccable game spirit here; respect for his past but an unbending resolve for the present. His acknowledgement of the fans and their perception of him is also noteworthy. Great sportsman spirit!
  24. Tomorrow's game is crucial for the team's confidence moving forward. So far, Jodi Jones whose impressive form lately has us all looking forward to another match-winning performance. More precisely, it's our attack that needs an uplift, with creativeness and precision being key.
  25. Bostock's right on the money about our character. Keep the faith, fellow fans. Here's to a strong finish!
