  1. It's been awhile since welcoming anyone new to PON. Stick around @SSTurtle28.
  2. Nicke Kabamba played a storm against Chesterfield 2 weeks ago. Barnet are also a stronger side this season, not a weakened team but one that attacks well. It will be another tough test for Notts, both teams have a similar style.
  3. This is the guy who was training with Notts previously? Bit of a step down from playing League One.
  4. Notts just stopped doing what worked in the first half and found it difficult to match Grimsby's desire. A draw wouldn't have been so bad, yet to lose in the dying moments of the game after leading for so long annoys me. Ruben Rodrigues barely contributed anything positively to the game. I have seen criticism of Kyle Wootton, but I thought he had little to no service. I don't understand why the midfield didn't do their jobs better, Cal Roberts won't always have that spark to create something. I thought he was poor in the second half, very wasteful.
  5. This win could be the turning point of our season, a good result and Cal Roberts firing in 3 goals won't hinder his confidence what with the bid from Chesterfield.
  6. Notts just needs to be patient with their play, there will be times when Rochdale should press more and that is when we could sting them. I think the counter play tonight will be the area Notts enjoys more of its possession. Prediction? I couldn't possibly guess.
  7. I would hope that if Notts fails to win at Meadow Lane and that we hit another blip, fans don't jump to the assumption its related to this. You have to respect the draw, in the first half it didn't seem likely to happen. I'll be at the home rematch. ????
  8. Well, I think the job should've been taken care of first time a round but the second time of asking should be good enough. We need to see a good performance by Notts, nothing less. Convincing 2-0 win please. O'Brien and Wootton to score.
  9. Notts must do better at Meadow Lane in the returning replay, 0-0 isn't something to moan about but to be defensively good, does Notts lack the grit to go and score? Its almost Ricardo Moniz esq.
  10. I suspect one or two changes, but nothing that will rest most of the key players. Matt Palmer is important to get the ball moving forward, I don't see Ian Burchnall resting him. I do feel we should consider giving some a rest, Kairo Mitchell could lead the attack, but I do not see him as a goal scoring threat.
  11. If you can bear it, here's Halifax's extended highlights.
  12. The last three games are not a good advertisement for Notts, if Yeovil do their homework it could be a very difficult game. As mentioned before me, if Notts turns up and attacks well, taking some of the pressure of the defence a good result could come. Its time Notts bounces back.
  13. @menzinho I fear another 1-0, I hope its Notts that gets the win.
  14. Frustrating game at the end of the day, Notts didn't turn up and all the basics were wrong. I don't think either team played well, they just took their chance and nobody could've changed the outcome of that. Notts needs to be a lot more direct, I would welcome a change back to a more attacking formation. Those defensive issues will resolve themselves in time. I think we're both to blame, I did say 1-0 after all and that I hoped it would be to Notts. The point @Chris is trying to make is that Notts relies heavily on the more creative players, they do a lot of the running and chasing of the game. I would agree that Ruben Rodrigues is either tired or carrying some form of knock. He hasn't been at his best at all as of late and seems much slower than normal. @Elite_pie are you forgetting that there wasn't the usual break between seasons? This has to factor in with some of the players. Once last season ended, the new campaign began quicker due to the mess created by covid. As for the argumentative comment about "facilities and squad depth", that is nonsense. You cannot compare every player in this league to each other, in terms of fitness. Its a narrow and weak way to make a point. The facilities at Notts are good, it does depend on the players condition. I think Notts needs to work better as a team personally, instead of giving the ball to the out wide areas and expecting them to do the damage.
  15. @menzinho Don't jinx it. Notts are on fire right now and with the momentum building, the club could find themselves closer to the top space. I also think the game will be decided by one goal, I am just undetermined if it will be Notts, but my heart and mind thinks we can do it. Cal Roberts to score from the edge of the penalty box, how's that?
  16. @Chris can you swap the heads around? ????
  17. A good strong performance and a clean sheet wouldn't go a miss, it's been a while since Notts has won a team at home convincingly. 4-0 Notts would be my prediction. Kyle Wootton x2 Roberts Cameron
  18. Mistakes will happen at our level, that is one thing some fans can't comprehend. Both teams have gotten off to a good start, a draw for Notts isn't bad. If anything it puts Wrexham in an awkward as they will be expected to win with the signings they've made. The draw shows Notts can compete with good teams and handle heavy pressure. All of which is useful in order to improve. I'll take a draw.
  19. Positive news from the Notts County board, hope more fans take up buying a season ticket this season.
  20. I have to agree, being given the squad number 15 makes me believe Ian Burchnall sees him as player in contention to play.
  21. A box to box midfielder is exactly what is needed, hopefully his EFL experience brings some creative flair to this level. It's an impressive signing.
  22. Impressed by this signing, keep him fit and look after the lad. Notts will reap their rewards!
  23. It looks like he's learned his lesson, the lad just wants to play. If he can stay fit for the most part of the season, Notts should be doing something right.
  24. In the middle of the back 3 defenders, I think it would suite him more. Good to see him extend his stay!
