Kouhyar, Conspiracies, and the Keeper Conundrum
CliftonMagpie commented on allardyces tash's blog entry in Tune in Next Week: The Ongoing Drama of Notts CountyWe’ve got to be patient, there’s no point in rushing to bring in new players. The recruitment team needs time to make sure each signing truly adds something to the squad. Like everyone else, I was disappointed to see Alex Bass go to Peterborough. But if the money helps us bring in real quality, it could be what takes us that extra step forward. @TheSkipper, 'cash is king, and quality must be queen.' 😂👏🏻 I really enjoy the way allardyces tash writes. His comments are good, but his blogs are full of wit and humour, a great way to lift the mood. They help soften the blow and offer a fresh view on things. Top work, AT.

Announcement: Updates on upgrades and further site work - 3rd July
Everyone does a great job in making PON the lively place we all enjoy. I’m really pleased with how the upgrade turned out. I was one of the fans who mentioned the missing create button, and I was so happy to see it return. It shouldn’t have gone in the first place, but I get that it was out of the gaffer’s control. It’s a brilliant feature, and I’ll be using it loads to start new topics. Thanks to everyone who donates and supports the site. The gaffer puts in so much work, and I know he values all the time, posts, visits and everything else that keeps it going. Thanks also to @Michael D Pie.. You all do an amazing job, and it’s great to see such strong support.

I always thought Kasper came in on a free transfer. I remember reading that he signed for a million, but over time I started to think that might’ve been a lie from Munto. Back then, clubs could probably get away with saying they paid a fee without much proof. @TheSkipper, if you ever feel like looking into it, I think it’d be a good read. I understand why you might want to steer clear of Munto stuff though, it has been covered a lot.

Stuart Maynard statement
I’ve always respected Stuart Maynard. Even when things were a bit iffy, I never doubted his dedication to Notts. It was good to hear his words again. He might feel a bit hard done by, and I wouldn’t blame him. But the way he focused on the positives shows real class. I wish him all the best in his management journey. I actually thought he might’ve gone back to Wealdstone.

RIP Diogo Jota
Rest in peace to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva. It’s heart-breaking to hear about their deaths.

@BridgyPie, it great to see you joining in and having your say. I can't encourage you enough to continue, because you should find we can have sensible discussions and so many fantastic posts to read. Fool’s gold and dodgy banker’s drafts, it was all a bit of a dream that lasted one season before everything went wrong. In one way, it’s a real shame how it turned out, but in another, we were lucky to have had that time at all. Our years in League One had their ups and downs, but I’m still glad we got to see that team with Lee Hughes, Neal Bishop, Ricky Ravenhill and the rest. It gave us memories to hold onto.

Martin Paterson: A New Era Begins at Notts County
He came across really well and said all the right things. I’ll fully support him because I want the club to do well. I liked that he spoke about helping players improve and focusing on their strengths rather than their weaknesses. That’s an encouraging approach. It reminded me of something Sam Slocombe mentioned before, about not being comfortable with the ball at his feet. That might have been overlooked in the past. If the players concentrate on what they’re good at, it should help performances come more naturally. It was a good interview and I think most fans will be pleased with what he said.

Thoughts on the Goalkeeper(s) Behind Alex Bass?
I wouldn't mind seeing Archie Mair back. He never looked the most confident in goal, but there was clear potential there. It’s been a few seasons since he was with us, and our defence has come on a lot since then. I do think there’s something in going for someone more experienced. At 24, you'd expect Mair to have played more games by now. That lack of match time is a bit of a concern. Maybe we should be looking for a keeper who's had regular first team action, but also knows what it’s like to be a backup. That balance could suit us well.

Has Luke got a new job?
Neither of those pictures look edited or AI-made to me. The one shared by Wales Online clearly shows it’s Luke Williams. I get that bald blokes can sometimes look alike, but that really does look like Williams. You can tell by the way he holds himself. It’s good to see he’s not just sitting back and relying on his Swansea City payout. Still, I really hope he gets back into coaching rather than settling into a job at the airport. He’s got too much to offer the game.

Jeg havde en trillebør, hjulet faldt af
Forget the heatwave, Nottingham’s got Danish fever! Everyone’s talking about it. I don’t speak the language, so I’ll leave my thoughts here and step back for now.

Exploring ways to further strengthen the coaching and staff structure
It was great when Notts had former players working around the club. It made things feel more connected, and brought a sense of unity that fans really appreciated. I think the club could make more of the ambassador roles, especially with things like the stadium tours that Les Bradd leads. There’s a real chance to bring fans closer to the club’s history through those experiences. Of course, there’s a cost to it, but tapping into that sense of nostalgia might actually benefit the club. It could help with events or simply boost the atmosphere on matchdays. If Neil Warnock were to return in some sort of advisory role, I think it could really help whoever ends up becoming the next head coach.

Wishing Fan of Big Tone a happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, @Fan of Big Tone! 🎂🎈🎁 Sorry, I couldn't get @super_ram to dress up and give you your cake. You will have to settle for Superman instead of 'Super Ram'. 😅😂

Could it be
There are better and worse options than Luke Williams, but we know he can inspire the squad and get the best out of them. I don’t think we were ever going to get promoted in our first season, and I don’t mind that he left or how it happened. It was the worst timing for us, but it made sense for him. I just don’t think success can be repeated when so much has changed, and he struggles with defending. Still, I’d be more than happy to see him return, I just don’t see it happening.

do you think jatta will be sold?
Did Jatta end up getting suspended for longer after being sent off in the home game against AFC Wimbledon?
-
do you think jatta will be sold?
I think you’re right, @liampie . Losing Alassana Jatta before a new campaign, combined with delays in appointing a head coach, wouldn’t be good business for Notts. I wouldn’t speculate on how much we’d want for Jatta, but he’s surely worth more to us on the pitch. The club will have learned from losing Macaulay Langstaff. He’s a vital part of our squad now, and £500,000 wouldn’t be enough to change their minds.

Welcome to Notts Academy: Nimesh Patel.
Welcome to Meadow Lane, Nimesh Patel. I hope you can help Notts develop young talent, reducing the need to buy players and finally allowing the club to produce its own stars. That’s something most fans would love to see.

Ollie Norburn signs for Notts.
If a player has real quality, they’ll show it regardless of injury troubles. It all comes down to how those setbacks affect them, and while it’s a concern, we’ve seen players like Jodi Jones overcome similar issues and thrive at Notts. I hope Ollie has the same impact and helps strengthen the midfield. For all the criticism Matty Palmer faced as captain, we’ve clearly signed someone who can lead on the pitch even without the armband.

What's Behind the Delay to Appoint a New Head Coach?
I don’t know, it’s anyone’s guess, but there will be a reason, and the process has worked well so far. Every appointment the Reedtz brothers have made has kept us moving forward, and I trust them completely in their decision. Whoever takes charge next, I will back them fully because we need that unity to push on from League Two. Hopefully, they get off to a strong start, as that will help bring more fans onside. Support the club, not just the people who come and go.
