  1. David Button, Jack Payne, Sylvester Jasper, Chris Long, and Jack Bridges would be good choices to fill the gaps we’ve got. Bridges is more of a left-sided player, but that could actually help. It would let Jodi Jones move into David McGoldrick’s role, or even give Will Jarvis a go there. Nick Tsaroulla and Kellan Gordon could do a job down the right. Chris Long would bring the kind of experience we’ve been missing up front. Jasper would get a chance to prove himself in English football, and David Button’s know-how in goal would be a big plus. Even at 36, Button could be a smart signing and a good mentor for young Harry Griffiths.
  2. Good read! Still have to see how Paterson does yet, we need to see how he handles a run of poor results.
  3. We’ve not had a keeper like Alex Bass in a long time. It felt like he still had room to grow, and that his progress could go hand in hand with the club’s. I trusted him completely to keep us in games, and more often than not, he did just that. Peterborough have picked up a really good goalkeeper, and I hope it goes well for him. He’s left behind a big gap to fill, and it does hurt a bit, especially when you think about the other talented players we’ve sold recently. On one side, we are bringing in money, but on the other, it makes you wonder where we might be if we’d kept hold of that talent.
  4. Hello, @Ash. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. Keep posting and enjoying what the site has to offer.
  5. He doesn’t seem too happy about the move, but hopefully he sees it as a chance to keep his football journey going. A good spell at Notts, getting some time in the first team, could help him work his way back to the level where clubs first noticed him. It’s great to have a young goalkeeper with this much promise. He’s clearly well rated, and that kind of talent could be a real boost for the squad.
  6. We’ve signed a young goalkeeper from Forest called Harry Griffiths. I’d imagine he’s come in as backup rather than to start. I’ve never heard of him before, so it’ll be interesting to see what he’s like. https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2025/june/30/departure--alex-bass/
  7. The decision to implement a more structured and formalised approach within the club is intriguing. It seems like a step towards modernising operations, which could potentially align everyone with the club's strategy more effectively. However, I do wonder about the balance between data-driven decisions and the human element of football. While data can provide valuable insights, the unpredictability of the game and the importance of team dynamics shouldn't be underestimated. It's a bold move, and I hope it pays off in terms of performance and results. The club's willingness to adapt and evolve is commendable, but it will be interesting to see how this new system integrates with the existing culture and traditions of the club.
  8. I thought Tyler Miller might be our backup, but he likely doesn’t want to be second choice at a League Two club. That’s fair enough. Whoever we bring in does need to be good enough to step up when needed. We can’t afford a big drop in quality if Bass is out. As for the youth keepers, from what I’ve seen, they’re a bit on the small side and haven’t looked all that convincing in training.
  9. This morning wasn’t too bad up until about 2pm. Things really took a turn around 5, though, it felt like everything had been shoved into an oven. There’s a nice breeze now, which is lovely. But earlier on, there wasn’t much of one at all where I was.
  10. Replicas are often a bit different, but many are far off the mark. A good retro shirt stays true to its original design, and this one is a smart take on a popular kit. Once the new shirts are released, I think we’ll see plenty of fans wearing this one.
  11. I hope they can make it look as good as it should. Once cleaned and repainted, the bridge would be a million times nicer to look at.
  12. His decision to join Notts, despite dropping from higher divisions, speaks volumes about the ambition and allure of our club's project. The combination of his Championship and League One experience should bring a balanced blend of tactical acumen and leadership to our midfield. I particularly appreciate his comments on versatility, not shying away from the rough and tumble nature of League Two games. As an armchair strategist, I believe that his ability to win tackles and second balls will enhance our control during matches. Moreover, it’s encouraging to see a player so motivated by our fans.
  13. That should be a great money-maker, you could even call it a match winner. 😉 Brilliant to see Charlie Palmer wearing one of our best home shirts again. Fantastic retro kit!
  14. After last season, we needed someone with proper leadership, especially since losing a few experienced heads in recent seasons such as Jim O'Brien. Ollie Norburn feels like the right kind of character, someone who sets standards and keeps the tempo up. His time at Shrewsbury and Blackpool shows he’s more than capable, and even with his injury record, you can tell managers trust him by how often he’s been made captain. A year with the option of another is ideal too, gives both parties something to work towards. I’m excited to see how he gels with our current squad, especially with the younger lads who could really learn from him.
  15. Tom Cleverley never really caught my interest. The person who comes in needs to be experienced. All the fuss about Jack Wilshere, but there’s nothing to suggest he is the right person. This appointment is the biggest one the Reedtz have had to make. The progress over the past two seasons and the National League years must continue so we keep moving forward on the pitch.
  16. Greetings to you, @PieHard. It looks like you are settling in nicely, which is nice to see. Welcome from me too!
  17. I think the past attempts failed for a reason. It doesn't sound like the club has ever truly committed to focusing on the benefits of such heads coming together. I don't see how this time would be any different.
  18. Wise choice. Personally, the increase in political nonsense tended to put me off.
  19. Welcome to the site, @Lullapie. Great choice of name. I hope you join in with us.
  20. Pukka Pies are widely accepted by football clubs. It's great that Notts wants to try to support a local company, but if they were any good, fans wouldn't be wanting to return to Pukka. I suggest Notts should look at other suppliers if they wish to save on expenses involved with Pukka Pies.
  21. Really pleased with how we handled this game. Gillingham tried to make it a battle, but we kept our composure and played our football. The link-up play between McGoldrick, Jatta, and the midfield was brilliant at times. We’ve been crying out for a reliable goalscoring duo, and now we’ve got two who are level on 13 goals each! Maynard deserves massive credit for getting the team so well-drilled, especially defensively. It’s clear we’ve been working on set-pieces, too-Tsaroulla popping up with another goal shows that. It’s great to see a plan coming together on the pitch. Four away wins in a row is no small feat. We’ve got momentum now, let’s keep pushing forward.
  22. It's all confidence with Aidan Stone. I am sure if he could find it and form, he would do a lot better. I wish him well. I don't particularly blame him because we were still competitive with him in our squad.
  23. If any Spurs fans read this, you have a star in the making with George Abbott. He deserves this, and so many before now.
  24. Notts controlled the game, managed the defensive side well, and got a great goal to win it. Jatta is proving to be such an important player, not just for his finishing but for how he leads the line. The ref’s decision not to give the penalty was a joke, there’s no consistency in how these are judged. I get that players should respect officials, but penalising them for not making a fuss is ridiculous. Thought the subs did well too, they slotted in seamlessly. We’re in a good position now, and if we keep playing like this, we’ll be right in the mix at the top.
  25. Burnley 2 -0 Watford QPR 2-1 Preston North End Blackpool 1-2 Stevenage Northampton Town 1-2 Charlton Athletic Chesterfield 0-1 AFC Wimbledon Morecambe 0-3 Bromley Hartlepool United 1-1 Yeovil Town joker Wealdstone 2-4 Dagenham & Redbridge
