Weekend Chat - Fri 5th - Sun 7th July
I spent the weekend at the seaside, which was largely enjoyable. The signal in Chapel was rather poor, limiting my online activities. However, this turned out to be both a blessing and a hindrance. I had the opportunity to watch the England game at the Marina in Skegness.

Lewis Hamilton
It’s pleasing to witness his victory for the UK. He’s a competent racer, albeit occasionally struggling with making the right decisions. If he concentrates on his driving, he should perform admirably in future grand prix.

Tiernan to Gateshead?
What I find puzzling, if this is indeed true, is that Notts have promoted him as a future prospect. They’ve created a situation where most fans are eager to see him get a chance, which is unusual for a young goalkeeper. I’ve noticed that some people are now calling for him, but a few months ago, I doubt we would have seen this. If they let him go without giving him a proper chance, it seems less likely that we will ever start giving young players a chance unless they immediately excel, which is highly unlikely at our level.

Tiernan to Gateshead?
People are saying on Twitter that it’s already happened, but I can’t find anything on the Gateshead page. There’s no news on their website either, and Tiernan Brooks hasn’t said anything. So, what’s the missing piece here?

Where are they now : Connell Rawlinson
This is a positive move for Chester. Rawlo’s addition to the team could make a significant difference. His tall stature could be advantageous. Since his departure, he has quickly managed to get things in order. This swift action leads me to agree more with @Chris’s viewpoint.

Tony Hateley
Tony Hateley is always remembered with affection. I enjoy learning about our club legends. It’s one of the reasons I was drawn to PON, as I never had the chance to see some of these fantastic players in action and video footage is scarce. Through the memories shared by fans who did witness their greatness, I can experience their legacy.

Season Tickets Sold
The figures are indeed impressive. While some supporters may wish for higher sales, it’s not always feasible. We have a dedicated and consistent fan base that remains with us through thick and thin. Given our current position, these numbers are quite commendable for the club.
-
Where are they now : Sam Stubbs
That must have been quite a painful experience, making his comeback to football all the more significant. I hope the upcoming season treats him well.
-
Where are they now : Tom Crawford
It’s good to see that Tom Crawford has found a new home at a different club. Connell Rawlinson has also recently put pen to paper for Chester. It’s pleasing to see our former players finding clubs where they can contribute to their progress.

Notts County Unveils Stylish New Home Shirt for 2024-25 League Two Season
If the stock is available, I envision many fans donning this shirt on match days, which I believe would be spectacular. Imagine the brilliance of seeing fans in The Nest and KOP all wearing the same shirt, particularly the latest one. I understand it’s a costly expense, which some might not be able to afford, but I can’t help but picture how fantastic the stands would look with fans in this shirt.

Connell Rawlinson’s Departure: Five Memorable Years at Meadow Lane
It’s always distressing to see a valued member leave your club. Connell Rawlinson has been a solid defender for us over several seasons and has contributed to Notts’ success. As we’ve improved, it’s regrettable that his skills haven’t been able to match the pace. Despite this, he departs Meadow Lane as a beloved figure.

Macca to Millwall?
We’ll have to become accustomed to the speculation. The club and Stuart Maynard need to manage this effectively to avoid unsettling the players. I’m confident that we have players who are fully committed to Notts. I’m not suggesting that Macaulay Langstaff would be upset if offers aren’t accepted. However, it’s something we need to be ready for and understand. Also, the fear of losing key players shouldn’t be the same as it was under previous owners. We’re recruiting well now. Cal Roberts is the perfect example. Fans were concerned he might leave, they didn’t want him to move on, but he did, and now we’re a stronger team because of it.

New OS site
The site is really pleasant, and I quite like it. I did observe that when I checked the hospitality staff and then clicked on the team link, the site’s URL changed but the page remained the same. However, these minor issues will likely be resolved over time.

The Nest/Fan Zone: Update.
I believe the current prices are for premium events, so I can’t envision the club charging Notts fans these rates on match days. At least, that’s what I’ve heard, and it seems logical. It wouldn’t make sense to charge Notts fans those prices for league games. Therefore, I’m quite content with The Nest. It’s genuinely a nice place.

Notts County Fans Hopeful Amid Transfer Rumours Surrounding Macaulay Langstaff
I sincerely hope we can retain him for this season. Advancing to League One could be a significant milestone. Although a substantial transfer fee could further Notts’ progress, I believe he holds greater value to us. I’m hopeful that Notts will turn down the offer and that Macaulay Langstaff remains content and dedicated to us.

Macca to Millwall?
I’m interested to see how things develop. Macaulay Langstaff will undoubtedly have a price tag, and Notts has its own aspirations. If Notts can retain him for this season, I believe we have a solid chance at promotion. However, finding his replacement through our recruitment process shouldn’t be too difficult. Let’s wait and see what transpires. Apparently, the chief scout on X has confirmed the bid. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Gutter Press At It Again.
The act of throwing bottles is disgraceful. It’s acceptable to voice your opinions or chant them, but there’s no justification for hurling objects or being offensive.

Can England Get To The Euro 24 Final?
I’m not convinced that the current form will be sufficient to reach the final. England has a strong team and anything is possible, but there are other teams in good form. Austria, for instance, seems like a real dark horse and could potentially make it to the final. England needs to successfully get through the next two stages, assuming they can defeat Slovakia.

Pride of Nottingham: The Epicentre for Notts County Fans
Being a part of the Pride of Nottingham has boosted my confidence. There are so many members whose views on Notts matters I eagerly await. It certainly fosters a sense of community. When I joined as a young teenager, I mostly kept to myself. However, being invited to moderate was one of my proudest moments here.

Curtis Edwards Excited for ‘Brilliant Fit’ with Notts County
Curtis Edwards’ comments have been very positive. The more I hear and read about him, the more excited I become about his signing. He appears to be a strong player and his calm demeanour should complement his teammates like Matt Palmer well. Hopefully, Scott Robertson can also find some calmness with both of them around him.
