  1. I struggle to have a lot of sympathy for the fishermen or farmers. I know little of either industry, but it was obvious that Brexit would never work for them... and yet they still voted for it. It's their industry, they should have been more aware of the potential consequences than someone like me. Caveat Emptor on that one.
  2. Surely the law change would be to declare himself 'good' despite what the courts decide having reviewed the evidence.
  3. I've just worked out the stars! Today was the first time I got any!!
  4. If they were nationalised then the cost of sorting out the mess would just be passed to us through taxes. They should be made to rectify the problems from the amounts they hand out in dividends and make in profits (without price rises).... and then they should be nationalised.
  5. 4 Today... I did better at the weekend, but I use a different laptop at weekends, so I couldn't post. Never mind. Wordle 905 4/6* ???????? ???????? ???????????? ????????????????????
  6. I'm getting the hang of it now... #waffle689 3/5 ???????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ???? streak: 1 wafflegame.net
  7. Covenants can easily be circumnavigated - I live near a ground where the Local Council waived a covenant on a park to allow a club to redevelop it to pay for a stadium upgrade. In that situation someone who holds the original covenant has to take the process through court to get the covenant upheld. In or case the club didn't have the money to do the development, but the planning permission is still in place 20 odd years later (they keep updating it). So a canny developer would get around the covenant.
  8. Wording is not my strong point!
  9. That sounds like a great way to start the weekend. I think I'll be doing Macaroni Cheese tonight. My youngest is off at a friends, so it's just me and daughter 1 tonight. Luckily our Parkrun course doesn't flood, but the bad news is that I have dived into Half Marathon training too quickly in an attempt to regain my youth and injured myself. I'll see how the knee is tomorrow morning. Other than that, it's working through my long Christmas shopping list and spending some time with my partner - this is her 'good' weekend between chemo treatments so we need to make the most of it. We may get Christmas trees too.
  10. The trouble with all of this is that the Government have convinced themselves that the Rwanda Bill and immigration is the most important thing on voters minds and it has become a hill most of them are prepared to die on. The Uxbridge byelection showed to them, wrongly in my view, that people don't care about the environment. Put these together and you get a government that is so embroiled in fighting itself that it has neither the time or the energy to attend to the real issues.
  11. After my pitiful attempt at Waffle I had to do this.. it could have been so much better too if I had guessed in a different order! Oh well. Wordle 902 4/6* ???????????? ???????????? ???????????? ????????????????????
  12. Still not got the hang of it. I think my problem is I try moves when I should just try it in my head. I'll go again Monday!
  13. It's similar to Wordle in that green tiles are right letter, right place and yellow are right letter, wrong place on that line and grey is wrong letter wrong place...but the idea is to swap the grey and yellow tiles about to spell words vertically and horizontally.. but you only get a certain number of swaps (15 I think). You should be able to do it in 10 apparently... I didn't work out a strategy until I had taken a few swaps, for some reason I thought I would get a practice run at it!! Dropped quicker than for me!
  14. My first run was a bit rubbish.. but I think I have the hang of it now. #waffle685 X/5 ???????????????????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ???? streak: 0 wafflegame.net
  15. 5 simply using guesses!! Wordle 901 5/6* ???????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
  16. Those cages brought back some memories - not nice ones.
  17. It's Jodi Jones for me. He terrorises opposition full backs and creates space for Crowley and Nemane on the other flank. It's a tough call between the 2 though. Also John Bostock calms everything down and creates space with his passing. We have several excellent players who should be playing above L2 standard.
  18. I've had a couple of bad back injuries (herniated discs from hockey and football) and had an operation and 'manipulation under general anaesthetic (which I don't want to know any more about as it sounds horrendous). I found Pilates was absolutely brilliant for the managing of the issue as it builds up muscular support for the spine which also reduces the pain. It takes time and persistence, but well worth it. It wouldn't surprise me if the pain rehab isn't Pilates based, if so it is worth the effort.
  19. Surprisingly my MP (Tory) isn't on that list. He also stood up to Johnson and was the first to get his letter of no confidence in - Roger Gale.
  20. This stuff makes me really angry.
  21. Wordle 900 4/6* ???? ???????? ???????? ????????????????????
  22. @Piethagoram I really hope your sister is OK and making progress. You are right on the NHS, it is precious and must be protected. Take care and I am thinking of you.
  23. I agree. I know my wife had to be very careful when on or near National Trust and English Heritage properties, and wasn't able to sell any pictures that included any of their properties. I had assumed there was some sort of civil restriction (the threat was suing rather than arrest), but Civil law is largely for the rich, so maybe they are just exercising the old ' we have bigger pockets than you' card. I agree though... it seems a pointless and wrong headed thing to do.
  24. Whhaaat? Surely his priority now is to get his son inducted at Notts?!!
  25. That is just ridiculous. I can understand not showing any action, although, mostly what I have seen it is always inconsequential action. Where will it stop - no recording in the ground, outside the ground, wherever you can see the ground in the background? I am assuming they will be using similar laws around photographing private property (e.g. you can't publish photographs including images of National Trusts / English Heritage sites). People will still do them in their cars / pubs etc. I don't really see what they are trying to achieve unless they plan their own output (which is likely to be sterile and dull). It seems pointless and counterproductive.
