@Piethagoram I can't say I am surprised. People who act nice to your face and come from nowhere usually can't take the truth.

I had forgotten that the club even had someone acting as the club's SLO. One got sacked from the role if I remember correctly for posting controversial messages on social media. It doesn't sound like a good idea, knowing how little some groups actually represent the fans. If things have been fine in the last four seasons, why is the club doing this now? You can only hope that supporters can do best by their club.

I thought it was great to have Jacob Bedeau back, he was rock solid. However, I voted for Charlie Whitaker as I feel his energy and involvement were impressive. Alex Bass made some very key saves, and it's good to see others voting for him, but I have made my decision.

Port Vale away will be a tough challenge, but we’re heading into the game with confidence. Defensively, we have improved significantly from earlier in the season, and it’s showing in our recent performances. Maynard’s advice about keeping clean sheets has been crucial to our success. The injuries to key players like Jones and McGoldrick are worrying, but the depth in our squad is being tested, and players like Whittaker stepping up is encouraging.

Facing Port Vale, it's vital we maintain our defensive shape and seize our chances. We need to start strongly, control the midfield, and focus on being creative. Vale has had their struggles defensively, and if we play our game right, I believe we can come away with a positive result. I agree this match will be a big test for Alex Bass and Alassana Jatta, and I’m optimistic about our chances.

Peterborough United looked strong in attack but reminded me of last season's Notts defensively. They were quite poor at the back, and their goalkeeper seemed clumsy and easily beaten. This isn't to take away from our efforts, but he looked awful.

76 today! Happy birthday to the man who brought passion and fight to our club. Neil, you’ll always be remembered for the incredible job you did during your time here.

It's easy to see the number 1,950 and feel disheartened, but for us, it's like a badge of honour, testament to decades spent battling it out. We might have more defeats, but think of the memories made: the thrilling clashes, surprising upsets, and those moments of near victories that kept us all on the edge of our seats.

Despite these setbacks, we've been here, pushing on and dreaming bigger. With club management turning a new leaf, hopefully, these long memories will only serve as inspiration. Here's to turning those numbers around, cheering on more wins, and creating newer victories. We've seen tougher days, so let's welcome the change. The Only Way is Up for the Pies!

Recruiting players who understand our style of play is key, but the club’s recruitment team has been brilliant with this so far. Our emphasis on controlling possession and exploiting wide areas means we need players with high football intelligence. A winger who can hug the touchline or drift inside to create space would add so much value. I’d also consider a wing-back with a good defensive mindset but enough stamina to push forward in attack. Looking at Scandinavia or the Netherlands is a clever idea, the leagues there are filled with gems waiting to be discovered. January is always tricky, but with the right scouting, we could make a real impact.

@ARLukomski are you following any Scandinavian or Dutch players who could be good fits for the club?  

Peterborough’s an exciting draw for us in the cup. They’re a decent League One side, so it’s not going to be easy, but matches like these are what the FA Cup is all about. If we can stay compact and frustrate them early on, the crowd could turn, which works in our favour. Jatta’s physicality might be crucial upfront, he can hold the ball and bring others into play. It’s also vital we avoid any silly errors at the back; Peterborough will punish those. I’m really looking forward to seeing how we perform against higher opposition. Let’s hope the lads give it everything and maybe even book a place in the next round.

Players like him don’t just bring quality to a team, they bring heart. I hope he’s enjoying at Woking, he’s earned it. Still, he gave us plenty of moments to remember, and I’ll always consider him one of the best players we’ve had in recent years. It’s great to see fans still talking about him.

Let's be honest, Leicester City fans would never have taken to Cooper with him having managed Forest. From the start, there was resistance. His tactical approach was intriguing, sure, but results just weren’t there, and the chemistry with the squad seemed off. It didn't help that the performances dwindled over time. He might have had some solid ideas, but football's a game of momentum and connection, and it just didn’t click here. It’s unfortunate it ended this way, but the club couldn’t afford to wait around. Now, they need someone who can reignite some genuine excitement.

On his day, David McGoldrick plays well above League Two level, showcasing his exceptional talent and experience. It's heartening to see him return home and become a mentor to both young and seasoned players at Notts County. Stuart Maynard needs to ensure he is managed correctly to avoid fatigue or injury, keeping him fit and effective throughout the season.

McGoldrick’s willingness to play every minute highlights his passion for the game and commitment to the team. This attitude, combined with his skill, makes him an asset not just on the pitch but in the dressing room as well, inspiring his teammates to strive for excellence. Given the opportunity, I have no doubt he would rise to the occasion and deliver outstanding performances consistently.

Everything that seemed likely to turn the game in our favour came through Nick Tsaroulla. 

He was instrumental in creating opportunities and making things happen on the pitch. His contributions were key to our attacking play, and it felt like we were more dangerous whenever he was involved.

I found the game a bit disjointed at times, particularly in the first half. Barrow were well-structured and capitalised on their opportunity effectively. We seemed to struggle with our precision in the final third, which prevented us from gaining momentum before the break.

However, the second half was a significant improvement. We applied more pressure, moved the ball more swiftly, and created some solid opportunities. McGoldrick's equaliser was definitely deserved, and I felt we had a chance to claim victory after that. Overall, a draw feels justifiable. It adds another point to our tally, and we continue to progress.

I don’t know how referees can offer better protection without clearer rules on challenges. I think tackles from behind should be ruled out and result in an instant red card, as they are dangerous and can cause trouble for both defender and attacker. Referees should use more common sense when a challenge is dangerous to offer better protection. However, like VAR, it wouldn’t be straightforward.

The occasion needs to be in good spirit, so I hope there’s no trouble on or off the pitch. The game could be a feisty encounter, which is common in a local derby. It will be good to see David McGoldrick return to the selection. I would start him ahead of Jatta and use him as a sub to impact the game. If we can tire their defence, it could lead to opportunities. I agree, there may not be many goals in the game. Whatever the outcome, we have time to make improvements and continue our good start.

@Joshua Jatta did some good work. He almost scored twice and can’t be faulted for the lack of creativity behind him.

Fair play to Robbie Cundy for going up top, but he wasn’t any better than Jatta. I wouldn’t rate him because he wasn’t on long enough, but if I did, I think 4 would be about right, if not a bit harsh.

Notts didn’t play terribly. There are words on social media like ‘**nk’ being thrown around, but those seem to come from fans with unhealthy expectations.

Two bottom-half teams, a draw wouldn’t quite do it. Not back to back and certainly not against another team that is struggling. I think Stuart Maynard needs to pull something out of his bag, as it would only lead to silly comments if we weren’t able to return with the maximum amount of points. A draw wouldn’t be bad but it would be somewhat of a setback and right now the team needs a good response which only a win would bring.
