  2. Notts travel to Barrow on Saturday looking for their first win of the season in League 2. A draw & a defeat in their first two games isn't the best start the Notts fans were looking for. The game follows a midweek defeat to Wigan in the EFL Cup however Notts did have an encouraging 2nd half performance where they created several chances but couldn't get the breakthrough. Head Coach Martin Peterson will be looking for more high level consistency from his team against Barrow. The team need to perform well over the full 90 minutes rather than only in patches as we have seen against Salford & Wigan. As far as the team selection for Barrow is concerned, I would definitely include Hall, Dennis, Luker, McDonald & Gordon in my starting 11. After encouraging signs against Wigan, I am hopeful that Notts can get their first win of the season. Consistency is the key to success of far as I see it.
  3. The post match interview of David McGoldrick is very interesting to hear especially for us Notts fans. He has some very interesting things to say.
  4. A new signing for Notts. Experienced defender, Hayleigh Sutton arrives from Sutton Coldfield Town. Manager Adam Dunleavy added: “We are really pleased to get Hayleigh over the line & welcome her to Notts! Hayleigh is a player we've had our eye on for a while, with bags of FA Women’s National League experience in this division & the one above, including a promotion from tier 4.

  10. We had 64% of the possession against a league 1 club at their place & I was encouraged by the 2nd half performance, but in the first half we weren't so good. Martin put on Dennis, Hall ,& Gordon in the 2nd half & they did make a difference to the intensity, & Notts to their credit upped the ante & put Wigan under pressure for decent periods of the 2nd half. What I'd like to see is the HC changing things earlier when it is clear the starting eleven isn't firing on all cylinders. I would have made those 3 substitutions half way thru the first half. Doing that could have made the difference. There were 9 subs available tonight so 3 going on early wouldn't have put the team under pressure later on in the match or for extra time if the match has been level.
  11. I think that Jack is a talented player & he was well worth the £100 million price tag. I don't think that Pep played him in the positions that allowed Jack to express himself fully. I do hope that he will flourish at Everton. I think David Moyes can get the best out of him. I also think that Jack can force himself into the England side again. I know that England would be better with him in the side. If things go well Everton could easily put a bid in for him & make the move permanent. Everton do have rich backers so I'm convinced it's not out of the question.
  12. A narrow defeat tonight for Notts against League 1 Wigan. Notts were poor in the first half but came out & gave a good account of themselves in the 2nd half, hitting the post & creating several chances. The performance in that 2nd half deserved at least to take the match into extra time but it wasn't to be There were some good performances in that 2nd half. I've chosen the starting 11 & three players who came on in the 2nd half. The players for the vote are as follows. Roos, McDonald, Bedeau, Jones, Grant, Iorpenda, Luker, Palmer, Aljofree, Cotter, Bennetts, Dennis, Gordon, Hall.
  13. Full time. A Wigan penalty scored by Paul Mullin decides the match in the 10th minute of the match.A poor first half by Notts in the 1st half, but Notts were much better in the 2nd half, & deserved to take the match into extra time but it just wasn't to be, however I'm encouraged by the effort shown by Notts in that 2nd half.
