Very sad to hear this news. He left the club before I started supporting Notts. He had 9 years at Notts with 245 appearances & scoring 21 goals. A man with a long service record at Notts, almost unheard of nowadays. Rest in peace Dick.

It was a great win for young England against Spain in the quarter finals last night. England had stuttered in the group games but came alive last night with two early goals. Spain came back strongly & pulled a goal back before half time, & England had to defend stoutly in the second half. It could have been a nervy last few minutes, but thankfully England scored late on when they were awarded a penalty. I am particularly pleased for young England manager, Lee Carsley who is doing a tremendous job with the England under 21s. He deserves every plaudit that he is getting England have every chance against the Netherlands in the semi final on Wednesday. Spain were regarded as one of the most strongest teams in the tournament. If England can play as they did last night a place in the final is possible.

It's another lovely sunny morning here. Have been up this early this morning watching the breaking news overnight. Will be out in the garden this morning mowing the lawn & just general garden work. Plenty of sport on the box today, Mens Final at Queen's Tennis, 3rd day of the first Test match between England & India, & Notts playing Yorkshire at Trent Bridge in the County Championship.
