  2. This is not a poll but just a discussion on who PON members think is their player that has excelled the most in the first 14 games. Notts have had a great start to the season & in their first 14 games they stand in third place in the table, scoring 22 & conceding just 12 goals. We have seen some excellent performances by all the Notts players, especially the new ones that arrived over summer. We can't forget the contributions from players who are out with injuries, such as Jones, Edwards & Grant, who helped Notts make a great start, & hopefully they will return in January. The Notts defensive unit of Bedeau, Platt & Macari have been outstanding, with Bass a commanding influence between the sticks. Tsaroulla & Gordon have excelled as Wingbacks & the midfield of Robertson, Abbott Crowley, & Palmer, (who is getting back to his best since his return), have all been commanding either defensively or going forward. Didzy & Jatta are doing the business for Notts upfront. Austin has come in & played in different positions but has always done a job for Maynard. And we can't forget the rest of the squad, players such as Martin, Brown, Cundy, Hinchy, Scott, McDonald, & Slocombe who've all demonstrated the strength of the Notts bench. So my PON colleagues, we have an outstanding squad of players to choose from for your Player of the season so far. You can choose only one. Just name your choice & why you chose that player, & maybe others that caught your eye.
  3. @DangerousSausage Big Sam, I think he goes too direct in more ways than one for United's liking. Although I admire your selection. But I think the temporary appointment has already been taken up. How temporary we will have to find out. Will they make a bold move for Pep, surely not, but you never know, in this day & age. For Pep they'd need £1.5Billion he'd demand for recruitment.

  5. Erik tan Hag's sacking has been on the cards for months. The Man Utd owners demand success, & unfortunately the Premier League Title has continued to elude them since season 2012/13. Since then the PL title has been dominated by Chelsea & City rivals, Man City, so the owners of Man Utd are getting a little impatient. Van Nistelrooy has taken over temporarily, however Utd are understood to be looking for a permanent appointment & one of those possible replacements is former England Manager Gareth Southgate. Whoever takes charge will have a tough task to bring success back to a club who's team is regularly underperforming, considering the value of the squad is thought to be over £1Billion. Whether the new man will get funds to rebuild the squad is a matter of conjecture. The funds will have to be quite extensive to attract some of the best players in the World to this famous club. Watch this space.
  6. Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been appointed interim Head Coach.
  7. Time to move on from this now. To be honest I get fed up with hearing about it The whole episode was a sad several months in our history, but that's what it is now, history. It's time to celebrate the now, & to look forward to the future, which looks very encouraging under the Reedtz brothers.
  8. It would be bad move for Notts & any other club that would even think of wanting to play league games abroad. I would be totally against it & so would the vast majority of fans

  16. The Poll has now closed. Thank you to all of you that voted. Eight of the Nine Players on the shortlist were given at least a vote by PON members reflecting the great performance by the Notts team on Saturday. I am delighted to announce that Nick Tsaroulla has been chosen as your Pride of Nottingham Man of the Match for his excellent performance against Harrogate. This win makes it two consecutive PON Man of the Match wins for Nick.
  17. I'm pleased that Brown had a good match for Notts on Saturday. Lots of fans were unsure of him when he came to Notts on a short time contract. However, Jevani has settled into the Notts system very well, & I am sure in the coming weeks he's going to play a big part for Notts. He almost got an assist to one of the best goals of the season, if Didzy had scored after Jevani's fantastic pass. Stuart Maynard was delighted with his performance & the hope is, Javani can now build on the confidence he's gained, & will score some goals for Notts in the coming games.
  18. Like I said @DangerousSausage I believe the guy should be judged by his results for Swindon. They got a creditable draw against Gillingham so that's a reasonable start for him. Things didn't work out at Grimsby, but that was then. Now he has a chance to do a good job for them & I hope he does.
  19. A much better second half by the Notts ladies, but it ends in defeat today
