  2. Kellan Gordon has a younger brother Kaide Gordon who plays for Liverpool, but is currently being loaned to Norwich City. Lewis Gordon hails from London. As far as I can tell he's no relation to Kellan or Kaide. Source Wiki.
  3. They could always offer Pep a contract.
  4. Personally, I don't think the best coaches are in the PL. You will find many excellent coaches in the lower leagues. Why does the England Manager need to be the absolute best coach & Manager? We need a Manager that can build a team of players that is capable of getting to tournament finals, then possibly winning a tournament. Gareth Southgate was far from being the best coach & manager but he was still quite successful as Manager of England.
  5. McGoldrick has been playing about 60 minutes until Stuart takes him off in previous games this season. There's no reason why Jatta & McGoldrick cannot play together for at least 60 minutes. I think it's better to try & build up a lead rather than bring a player on for the last 15 minutes to try & respond to being behind. Notts have to be active as well as being reactive. I love the fact that Notts have shown Character & determination to retrieve a losing cause. The point is, at home we need to build up a lead so the opposition have to come out & attack us for them to retrieve the situation. When they are forced to come forward, it will leave more space for Notts upfront, & this will help players like Scott & Brown when they come on after 60/65 minutes. That's why I'd play McGoldrick & Jatta together at the start of a match.
  6. Here's another interesting video about Third Lanark & their ground.
  7. Glasgow has four professional football clubs in the City, the old firm, Celtic & Rangers, then two other clubs, Queen's Park & Partick Thistle. But there used to be a fifth club that was quite famous founded in 1872. One of the founder members of the Scottish football league, a club that won the Scottish 1st division once, & Scottish Cup twice, & as late as 1961 they finished third in the Scottish 1st division & played in Europe. Unfortunately the club fell on hard times soon afterwards & due to mismanagement, went bust & were expelled from the Scottish league in 1967. The teams name, Third Lanark AC. The Club played at Cathkin Park, a ground that regularly saw big crowds in the past. The record attendance was over 51,000 & with large terraces all around, The Park is still there in ruins now. There is a football pitch still there but on the three sides remaining, the terraces are overgrown & nature has taken over. The park stands as a sad reminder to what can happen to football clubs no matter how big they were in the past. There have been several attempts to resurrect the club. A businessman bought the name & to this day, an amateur club in a lower league goes by the name of Third Lanark. Here follows an interesting video about the club & the ground.
  8. Good news for Notts, Rod McDonald & Lucas Ness are coming back to match fitness & in Rod McDonald's case, he is available for selection. Up till now, Stuart Maynard has had a settled back line for the first ten games, Lewis Macari, Jacob Bedeau, & Matty Platt have done superbly, with Rob Cundy filling in off the bench Stuart McDonald has impressed Stuart when playing for Notts in two EFL trophy games & Lucas Ness impressed playing his first 45 minutes of the season in the 2nd of those games. There has been talk of McDonald replacing Macari in the first 11. Question. Do PON members think Stuart should make a change to the back three for the upcoming games or stick with the three defenders who have performed well of late?
  9. Well said @Wheelbarrow repair man I couldn't have said it better myself.
  10. Woke up to another wet morning with cloudy skies & more rain in the air. Would be interesting how many inches of rain we've had here this summer, because apart from a very brief hot spell, it's been all rainy, well it seems that way. Nothing planned as such today, apart from my daily walk. Wife's ordering the weekly food delivery.
  11. Notts may not have been at their best but to get the win against an inspired Crewe team is still noteworthy. Onwards to the next home game against Leafield which will be another tough game.
  12. Your Monday Morning Weather
  13. Stuart Maynard must be pleased that his team is continuing to show character determination and the will to fight back when they concede goals. Stuart should also be pleased that his team selection worked out quite well for him too George Abbott played so well at right wing back, a position he hadn't played for Notts before, but you wouldn't have thought that was the case, he was so comfortable there. Stuart's substitutions worked out well too, Didzy came on and scored a goal after his penalty was saved by their goalie. Notts's unbeaten away run goes on & long may it continue. All they have to do is win at home in their next match against Wimbledon.
  14. Leah Hardy scores Notts 2nd goal against Crewe.

  16. The poll has now closed. Thanks to all those who voted. I am pleased to announce that after a close vote, George Abbott is the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Chesterfield.
  17. Apologies for the lack of updates today. Not sure if they had internet problems in the Crewe area today, but not many updates from Notts or Crewe.
  18. It's another great win on the road for Notts Women against a plucky Crewe side. Another very good defensive performance too.
  19. Nice interview. It is clear that George is enjoying his time with Notts & has quickly settled into the side George showed his versatility against Chesterfield playing on the right hand side & having one of his best games since he arrived here. His first assist is something to be celebrated & hopefully we will see quite a few more, & maybe the odd goal from him as the season progresses.
  20. A win for Notts. Into the next round. Crewe 1 Notts 2
  21. Goal to Crewe. Crewe 1 Notts 2
