Morecambe U 18s v Notts U 18s 12 pm kick off at Lancaster & Morecambe College.

Jacob Bedeau has been an excellent signing for Notts. Not only is he solid at the back he is also keen to make some forays into the opposition half. He has struck a great defensive partnership with Platt & Macari at the back too. I believe Jacob can only get better as the season goes on. He might even score some vital goals too.

No matter what the situation with Jodi is, it's great the Notts have taken precautions by bringing in a winger Josh Martin.

Morecambe are going to probably sit back, let Notts have the ball, they will employ a high press & try to wait for mistakes at the back by Notts. Every team tries the same tactics against Notts every week, Gillingham last Saturday was no exception. But Notts are much more secure at the back nowadays & Notts have reduced the effectiveness of this tactic by opponents considerably this season. Notts will treat Morecambe with respect & will guard against their aerial threat, which I'm sure will be relentless. It will be a day where Dan & Jacob will want to play well against their former club & Alassana & Jodi missing will be a blow too. However, if Notts play to the level that they have shown this season, I just believe Notts will be too strong all over the pitch. I'm expecting a close game with Notts winning by the odd goal. CMON U PIES!!

Your Saturday Morning Weather

Every game in league 2 is going to be a stern test & the match against Morecambe will be no exception. They made a great comeback after being 0:2 down the other night & they showed lots of character & determination to come back & force a draw, & could have easily won the game against Fleetwood in the end Every single side in League 2 will raise their game against Notts so Notts have to be at their best every time. If Notts play to their capabilities they should be too strong for Morecambe however, at this point I would take a draw as a good result.

Jacob Bedeau has been an excellent signing for Notts. He has quickly slotted into the Notts side & has become an important part of the Notts defensive unit with Macari & Platt. Notts have tightened up considerably at the back & it has primarily been down to those three players having a good understanding between each other. Jacob has also shown that he is capable of going forward too, when the opportunity opens up for him. This gives Notts another string to their bow, when they are on the offensive. As Jacob gets more game time, he can only improve & become an even more valuable asset to the Notts team. It will be a big day for him tomorrow going back to play against his own club. I am sure he'll want to perform well & maybe even score a goal too. That would be a return to remember.

It's positive that Notts have acquired the services of Josh Martin, because it will give Stuart options on the left, & he can also operate as a central attacker Curtis is going to be out of the side till at least January, & with Jodi being assessed regarding his recent injury, it is a good move by Notts. Josh has the opportunity to make an impression up until January, & if he succeeds, he could be offered a contract by Notts.

Alassana Jatta won't play against Morecambe. No mention by Stuart Maynard of the condition of Jodi Jones in the pre match press conference.

Your Friday Morning Weather

Morecambe may seem to be in trouble at the moment & have their problems, but Notts must concentrating on doing a professional job on Saturday. We've seen in the past that teams that have problems can spring surprises. Morecambe showed a lot of character a few days ago after being 0:2 down & fighting back for a draw. Notts need to play at their best & field a strong team. Jatta & Jones may be missing, but Notts can still get a positive result on Saturday.

I'm pleased that McDonald got 45 minutes of game time at Burton & performed well in that first half. Stuart now has more options in defence with McDonald & Cundy available for selection. As I have said every game, Morecambe must not be underestimated. They came back from two goals down against Fleetwood & showed plenty of character in doing so. For my starting 11, I expect that Notts will continue with the defensive partnership of Bass in goal, & Macari, Platt & Bedeau the back 3. Tsaroulla & Gordon the wing backs. Palmer & Hinchy in midfield with Crowley & Grant supporting McGoldrick up front. Like every side this season, Morecambe will probably sit back, employing a hard press & wait for opportunities.. Key areas will be defensively where Notts need to continue the good form, & upfront, where I don't think Jodi or Alassana will be available, & they will both be missed. I do expect a hard game, however Notts should win this one, if they play well. I'd be happy with a draw through. My prediction 2:1 Notts.
