Plenty of rain around today.

I love to hear Mark Stallard's analysis. He is so good at picking through the Notts performance post match. I think he is absolutely correct with his analysis. Notts didn't play poorly in this game, they didn't play to their best, but any other day they could have easily won this match It was unfortunate that the chances didn't fall to Didzy, Crowley or Jones otherwise I'm sure they would have buried those chances. I won't dwell on the goal ruled out for offside & the penalty that wasn't given, but another day & another Ref things may have been different. There are positives to take too. The Notts defence was solid again, Bedeau showed that he will be a big player for Notts this season. And Notts did create plenty of chances against a side that will be up there at the season's end. Onwards we go to Morecambe next Saturday.

For the trophy match against Burton & think that we will see many changes to the Notts starting 11 on Tuesday. I may be wrong but Jatta won't feature because Stuart will want to give him every chance to recover from his recent head injury. I think Brown will start upfront with Austin supporting from midfield. Reynolds may get his first start too, with Palmer & Hinchy in central midfield We may well see Cundy in central defence with Macari & Bedeau. Slocombe in goal, Chicksen at left wing back, Gordon on the right. I forsee a strong bench with McGoldrick, Platt, Crowley, Abbott, Grant, Bass, & Sanderson all available to come on if required. It would be nice to get something out of this game, but Stuart will be thinking more about next Saturday, & ensuring that there are no more injuries.

@liampie I wonder if there will be a pre Burton interview later this afternoon? There may be a question asked about Jodi.

Overall Notts were the better side & had several opportunities to score that on another day they would have done. Gillingham came with a game plan to defend, & execute a high press on us, & try to capitalise on mistakes or hit us on the break. The plan for them worked perfectly, but Notts can be positive with their performance. Notts did many things right & could easily have won 3:1. Jodi's injury near the end is a concern, & Notts did miss Alassana Jatta too. He gives Notts an outlet & Notts missed his finishing on Saturday. Onward to Morecambe & back to winning ways next week.

Weather for Sunday Morning

Notts U 18s lost their match today against Mansfield 1:2 by a late goal for Mansfield.

Concerning that Jodi limped off near the end of the match against Gillingham. Stuart Maynard talked about it during his post match interview & intimated that the Club will assess his injury on Monday. Will be very unlucky for Jodi & Notts if he is out for a while. What's more concerning is that the injuries to players are mounting up. There is good news that Cedwyn Scott is on the road to recovery, so is McDonald & Ness, but Jatta has had a recurrence of the effects of his head injury, Edwards out till at least Xmas, now Jodi. Just hope that Jodi's injury isn't serious & he won't be out for long. He'd be certainly missed for his creativity.
