A Head Coach, assisted by his recruitment team can buy players in that might look good on paper, but the question always is, no matter what team, can the Head Coach get the players to gel together & mould them into a successful team? I think that Stuart Maynard can. I hope I'm right, but the early signs look good.

Tony Hateley at the beginning of his career helped Notts to promotion, then approximately ten years later was influential in helping Notts to gain promotion once again after coming back to his boyhood club. And Colin Slater was there to witness both occasions. I'd like to think that Colin is looking down from above & likes what he is seeing from Notts as they try to achieve promotion this year too.

It's Matchday. Notts County Women v Sutton Coldfield Town. 2pm kick off. Notts are at home today at Coronation Park Eastwood. Notts will be looking to put in a good performance against Sutton Coldfield today. Sutton are one of the teams in this league that Notts are capable of beating.

Good Morning everyone. Overcast here this morning,no wind, had some welcome rain for the garden last night. Meteorological summer as ended apparently. That's another one gone. Feeling good after the Notts victory yesterday. Just the manner of the win was most satisfying. If a side can win a match in different styles & ways, it's very encouraging. Back to today, breakfast then helping wife put up some new curtains for the living room. Not much else planned for the day, but I'm sure that may change.

This is a win that should give all Notts fans satisfaction. This win was such an untypical Notts win that we have witnessed during the last two & a half seasons. Notts weren't at their best, but once again the team showed character especially in that second half when they were under pressure. David, Didzy McGoldrick, what can you say about him? He's pure class, two goals out of nothing. But we shouldn't forget the rest of the team. Bass in goal exudes confidence that helps the Notts defence,. Crowley, playing out of position, & Jones playing as an attacking midfielder, with Grant supporting Didzy. All the team plus the substitutes worked hard to grind this win out. It's great to see players come on as substitutes & do such good work too. Stuart was so pleased with the team & it is great that the team can play with flair against Grimsby & grind a result against Swindon. And, the squad can only get better in my opinion.

Two goals created by class. DiDZY the match winner today. Two goals out of nothing. Goal conceded to another misplaced pass in the first half. I must say our defence did hold firm in that 2nd half. Notts not at their best today, but I think that was a massive defensive performance that Stuart will be really pleased with. First smash and grab I've seen from Notts in a long time. That's a grinding result with plenty of character.
