  2. Macca played a full 90 minutes tonight. Millwall lost 0:1 to Orient in the League Cup. The way Millwall play, they are not getting the best out of Macca. Bring him home Notts.
  3. The game against Swindon in their current form will be a good opportunity for Notts to get a much needed win on the road. Notts need to concentrate on what they are doing best themselves, by staying tight at the back and just play the way they did against Grimsby. Every side is going to pose a threat and Swindon will be no different, but I'm sure other clubs in the Division will have seen the Notts performance against Grimsby, & as a result, clubs, including Swindon will be weary of us. I'm hoping for a positive result against Swindon.

  6. I was so sad to learn of Sven's passing today. His time at Notts County will never be forgotten. It was a tremendous time to be a supporter of Notts in his time here. Him being here allowed us all to dream of great things to come for Notts, but it wasn't to be in the end. His passing is a big loss to football, and I give my condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace Sven.

  9. A great read @Chris It is great that the old time greats of Notts get fresh publicity like this and Tom has a great story to tell too. He was a great player, a legend at Notts, & he leaves a great legacy. Football was harder for players then, with a much heavier ball and terrible heavy pitches in midwinter. Players today are paid very well for doing the thing they love, playing football, but players in Tom's day, had to carry on working to feed themselves & their families, when they retired from the game. Some found it very hard even though they tried so hard to make a living outside football. Tom will always be a record breaker, & his memory will never be forgotten by Notts supporters.
  10. Alassana has given Notts a new dimension up front this season. He is good at timing his runs to score from close range, He's good in the air & poses a threat to the opposition at corners & free kicks into the area. He can win long balls from either the goalkeeper or defenders & bring other Notts players into play. And he's tall and strong too. Opposing teams haven't found a way to counter him yet. Long may it continue.

  12. Nice blog @Joshua Well put together. Wow, we do have talented writers on PON. I'm just pleased for Stuart. It was rough for him taking over from a legend like Williams. However Stuart has come through all that, and the signs are very good with the team he's building. There will always be people who will be negative, but I believe there are big positive things going to happen in the next few months with Stuart's team.
  13. Agree with many on here that he wasn't up to it. He just didn't click at Notts & unfortunately, that often happens with players.
  14. Stuart was appointed head coach and had to deal with a team that was leaking goals and having problems in defence. But to his credit, he has stuck with it and in the close season worked with the recruiters to bring in players that could compete at this level. The signs that all his work is paying off, was clear to see on Thursday night. We witnessed the best performance of the Notts team under Maynard and the football that was played was a joy to see. I'm so pleased for Stuart that this team looks like they may be going places. Time will tell, but there is certainly a buzz around the club at the moment.
