Toney should replace Kane for the Netherlands match. Kane has had a long season and looks a bit leggy. Ramsey replaced Greaves with Hurst in the 1966 World Cup and that was a masterstroke by Ramsey. The rest is history. Greaves was regarded as the best striker in England at the time, and his omission did raise eyebrows.

I think Turkey were extremely unfortunate not to win that match. They were all over the Netherlands during the last 10 minutes, cutting the Netherlands apart on several occasions. England can learn much from this match, when they plan their tactics against the Netherlands for the semis. Turkey, along with Georgia, have been the two most entertaining teams in Euro 24 for me.

Five first class penalties by England won us the match. England were much better in this match and SAKA has an absolute blinder. Absolutely delighted that England have got to the semi finals without firing on all cylinders. England will need to improve again against the Netherlands, but England are very capable of taming the Dutch. Looking forward to that match with optimism that England can get to the final.

The game against Alfreton allows Notts to field all the new recruits and play all the players that have returned from injury. It's important for those players like Cedwin Scott and Matt Palmer to get some game time Key areas will be Goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack. Notts new goalkeeper Alex Bass is sure to start. Will Cameron & Stone feature too? If Macca is going to leave lots of attention will be on Morias, Scott, Jatta and Didzy, because all four of them can give Notts different options up front. I will be interested to see how the Notts midfield line up together. Robertson, Palmer, Edwards, Austin, Tsaroulla & possibly Jones are a very healthy midfield team for Notts. Tsaroulla can play at left wing back too. Lots of attention will also be on our defensive unit and the new players such as Platt, McDonald & Bedeau, with established players like Chicksen & Macari. Notts will probably field a different team in each half. I expect a comfortable win for Notts, maybe four or five goals for Notts & hopefully, none conceded.

So the semi finals of Euro 24 will be :- Tuesday 9 July Spain vs France (Munich, 20:00) Wednesday 10 July Netherlands vs England (Dortmund, 20:00)
