  1. Finding information on Google and the astrencin.sk site isn’t easy. The website is hard to use and doesn’t seem well organised. Even Wikipedia still shows the old manager. I wondered if that meant he’s taken on a different job at the club. To be honest, it’s one of the worst sports websites I’ve come across. I do hope Ricardo Moniz does well. I often wonder if things might have turned out better for him if he’d worked under the Reedtz brothers.
  2. Hello, welcome to the community @Ash. It's great to hear that you have wanted to join PON for so long now.
  3. With Joao Alves leaving, it’s still possible that other members of staff could move on too, no matter what their current role or title is. It could be that Steve Collis is on his way out, which might explain why Sam Slocombe has stepped into a more hands-on role. If that’s the case, maybe he’ll take up the position of goalkeeping coach full time. I know it’s not common for goalkeepers to coach outfield players, but they do see the game from a different view and can share useful tips. Things like what a striker does in a one-on-one or how to put a goalkeeper under pressure. I was only wondering if there had been a shift behind the scenes and whether we might see more changes. Just sharing a thought, not stating anything as fact.
  4. Maybe he didn’t want to return to a first team coach role now there are more staff around. He might have preferred staying as assistant head coach instead. The club may have noticed fans were worried about having too many people involved. So, they could’ve made a tough call and let someone go. I do wonder if Sam Slocombe might step in as the new goalkeeping coach. It would be an interesting move.
  5. England played really well in the first half, but they eased off a bit when certain chances came their way. Harvey Elliott, James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson all look like future stars. They showed great quality throughout. James Beadle looked very calm and composed. He might be a good option for us if we can bring him in on loan.
  6. Who do you want first game? MK Dons (Home) Who do you think is going to be our first game (home or away)? Oldham Athletic (Home) Newport County (Away) What fixtures are you looking forward to? Chesterfield (both) Walsall (both) Shrewsbury Town (both) MK Dons (Home) Grimsby (both) Gillingham (Away) Barnet (Away)
  7. Hello, @MejustMike. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, its good to have you here.
  8. There’s no “if” about it, everything else you’ve said is spot on and I’m with you. When people don’t get what they hoped for, they tend to lash out at whoever’s easiest to blame, especially when they’ve got about as much optimism as a wet weekend in December. It’s like they’re always waiting for something to go wrong. The Reedtz brothers have earned more trust than that. They’ve built something solid at Notts and shown they’re in it for the long haul. One appointment that doesn’t light up social media shouldn’t be enough to send people into meltdown. A bit of patience wouldn't go amiss.
  9. It’s baffling how quickly some people leap to doubt the Reedtz brothers, often throwing out wild assumptions before the dust has even settled. Sure, the new managerial appointment might not match every fan’s wishlist, but casting judgement before a single ball’s been kicked feels premature. I get it, there’s a natural anxiety that comes with being a Notts County supporter, especially after all we’ve endured over the years. Still, we’ve got to give people a chance before writing them off. What really grates is how swiftly the mood turns against the owners. Anyone who’s been following their stewardship can see they’ve been putting in the graft for a sustainable future. It’s valid to wonder whether this decision was financially driven, but branding it as a sign of decline does them a disservice. The progress we’ve made, climbing out of the National League and competing to return to League One, has been built on the solid foundations they’ve laid. Let’s not lose sight of that amidst a bit of uncertainty.
  10. Why are people so quick to question the Reedtz brothers and come out with the daftest claims? Yes, the appointment might not be what everyone hoped for, but we can’t judge someone before they’ve even had a game in charge. I understand why some fans are unsure. It’s natural to worry, especially when it comes to Notts County, given what we’ve all seen before. What doesn’t sit right with me is seeing people turn on the owners so fast. Anyone who’s been paying attention can see they’ve been backing a proper long-term plan. It’s fair to question if this choice was made on the cheap. But to say they’re dragging the club down or holding us back just isn’t right. They’re a big part of why we’ve had success and why we’re pushing to get back to League One.
  11. It would be great to see a team like Real Oviedo hold their place in La Liga. There’s something special about seeing smaller clubs challenge the big names and get results that surprise people. That’s one of the reasons the Premier League is so exciting. Teams like Leicester City, Burnley, Aston Villa and Bournemouth have all had strong seasons in their own way, showing that with the right approach, anything is possible.
  12. Hello, @BridgyPie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham site and community forums, we are delighted to have you and I hope you enjoy being a member of PON. Would you care to tell us a little bit about yourself?
  13. Happy birthday! It’s lovely seeing everyone send their best wishes. Hope you have a brilliant day.
  14. I keep wondering when the club will announce the new head coach. It sounds like an agreement’s already in place and we’re just waiting for things to be finalised. If the contract’s done and it is the Danish coach, things could still shift if they reach the final. I doubt we’re the only ones keeping an eye on him, but hopefully we’ll hear something soon.
  15. @Michael D Pie., It looks a bit different, but it reminds me of that shirt we had with all the season ticket holders’ names on it. I really like the Adidas kit, it has that classic 80s feel to it.
  16. I go whenever Disney or DreamWorks bring out something my children want to see. They've asked me to take them to watch "How to Train Your Dragon," which they enjoy as an animation. This one is a live-action film, similar to how Disney has turned its classics into real-life versions. I don’t go to the cinema otherwise. I prefer to wait until films are released and watch them on Netflix.
  17. I think Rotherham United's away shirt is a real possibility, being Notts themed a bit more. But the same could be said for several of these shirts, where simply changing the colours would make them suit Notts better.
  18. I take rumours with a pinch of salt, but it’s interesting to think about how Notts could look if Luke Williams returned. I don’t think defensive organisation would be the main focus, which wouldn’t be a bad thing, but he’d need to make sure we dominate not just possession but also chance creation. He brought out the best in several players, including Adam Chicksen, who has now moved on. He could do the same with others. I reckon the club will be looking for a new appointment, while Williams settles back into life where he lives. Returning could unsettle that, but who knows?
  19. It's a mystery, but at least the signs look good. Without the news about Dr Rhodes and the training ground, we’d only have two signings, which would raise more questions. It seems like the board want to focus on the infrastructure first, maybe as part of their pitch to the new head coach. It might all be part of a bigger plan, and the wait makes sense if they want to pick the right person. I don’t believe the rumours that we’ve been snubbed or are finding it hard to bring someone in. It’s more likely that the club are just being careful and taking their time.
  20. I'm starting to sweat just looking at the old green buses! It makes sense to have the routes in colour with digital signs showing where they’re going. But there’s something really nostalgic about the old ones, where the driver had to turn something by hand to change the sign.
