Our son and family have gone on a camping holiday to the New Forest he’s deliberately chosen a pitch with no electricity and they won’t have any data either, our grandchildren will be very unhappy that they are not able to use their gadgets, so good luck to them all for a peaceful, argument free holiday.

Match Discussion: League Cup - The Shrews (A)
I said at half time that Shrewsbury wouldn’t let us run the show in the second half I had hoped that Maynard would I still that into the players, we’d won nothing at that stage. We gave away two needless goals one very complacent back pass by Edwards and a mistake by Slocombe for another gift to the Shrews. i was pleased however that we showed the bottle to fight back to take it to penalties. There are lots of positives to take from this game, the first half performance was excellent we need to take that into the next game.

Match Report: Notts County Fall in Dramatic Penalty Shootout After Six-Goal Thriller Against Shrewsbury Town
Notts dominated the game in the first half, they were resolute at the back and exciting going forward, I said at half time that Shrewsbury would be a different team in the second half and it proved to be as they turned the match on its head but we still did well and showed good fighting spirit to equalise through Jatta, it’s just a shame the penalties didn’t work out for us.

Match Discussion: League Cup - The Shrews (A)
So far so good, Notts playing well but I doubt Shrewsbury will let us have it our own way in the second half, Notts need to concentrate now and keep a clean sheet.

New Signing Jacob Bedeau Thrilled to Be Part of Notts County's Journey
It sounds like he’s settling in well and knows what is needed if Notts are going to be successful defensively. I particularly like this quote. “When the ball does have to go over the stand or into the crowd, it has to be done.”

@Robbie we had a blackbirds nest in our Montana clematis which covers the fence, the parents were dodging in and out all the time feeding the babies and we could here the cheeping, there’s no activity now I assume they’ve fledged and flown the nest, I hope our cat didn’t get them but I haven’t found any remains so I’m assuming not. @Chris I’m looking forward to reading the articles it sounds like you’ve been busy as usual. Don’t forget to take breaks regularly.

Childhood Memories At The Seaside
I think childhood memories of seaside holidays can last a lifetime, the days were endless and the sun always shone. We once took a friend of our son on holiday with us, I had just been made redundant so we didn’t want to spend much, we took a trailer tent to a cliff top campsite in Norfolk and when we got there our sons friend who was about 10 at the time told us he’d never been to the seaside before, I felt so sorry for him but he certainly made up for it on our holiday he and our son had the time of their lives.

Good morning it’s another nice start to the day. Did anyone see the shooting stars or the northern lights last night? Both were visible apparently, it’s too late for us but our son took this picture of the northern lights.

Graham Thorpe, RIP.
It’s terribly sad and I’m so pleased that the family are able to talk about it, Suicide should not be a taboo subject it is very common and people need to be aware. I volunteer for a suicide bereavement support group after our own son took his life in 2012, we have newly bereaved joining us every month for support, it’s a terrible thing for those left behind to deal with but when someone takes their own life they invariably aren’t thinking of their loved ones it’s just that they want to end their mental pain, they have a tunnel vision where nothing else matters but ending the misery that they feel. Rip Graham and I hope his family can find peace.
